Old, tired and expensive

Called in for lunch... The service was slow, the coffee cold. Others arrived after us and served first... Guess nothing else around. Very expensive for what it is.. And had to chase food.... Try others first. Won't be back and certainly would not recommend.. Time for new owners and a... read more

I took a lawyer/colleague there for a coffee, big mistake. Ordering a Millefeuille, 2 Vienna coffee's & a bagel salmon was a rediculously expensive NZ$25.30. Coffee at $6.10 is daylight robbery in any mans books. The service started badly when I asked for vienna coffee's to be told they did not serve them, only to be told by another serving... More

The vast majority of cafes and bakeries in New Zealand tend to offer the same type of stuff: pies, sausage rolls, a BLT and a cream filled roll. Bordeaux offers a welcome change of that regime. They claim to be French influenced (hence the name). If that's true or not, well quite frankly that doesn't matter. What does matter is... More

There are (at least) two outlets, one right in the CBD, and if you need a tasty lunch or an indulgent afternoon tea, they are your new best friend! Don't be put off by my choice, they offer lots of far more usual combinations as well. But the beetroot and cheese really is good :)

I love this place, the food is amazing and the people are authentic. A great place to go for a morning or afternoon treat with your coffee/tea.

Our family of three dropped in for Sunday lunch at this cafe. There was a busy lunch time crowd and we thought it was worth checking out. As it turns out this is the first and probably last time we will be there. The cafe has a nice vibe with good ambience although the upperfloor is a bit cramped and... More

The staff is very rude, and they don't care about the customer. I lived during 10 years in france, and that i tasted in this bakery was definitly not a croissant ... i am so desapointed.

A friend and I stopped by for a late lunch. Between us we had a walnut sandwich (odd but light and good), a seafood roll (good) and cronuts (a bit too much filling but really good). Our flat white and chai latte were delicious. The staff was friendly. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but I'm... More

I had lunch here and was disappointed. The quiche was fine but the accompanying salad was average - just a heap of lettuce with no garnish. The waiter put my unwrapped cutlery on the table (the café was not busy). The food in the cabinets looks and tastes good but there are lots of better places to eat in Wellington.
