Bangalore polo club is set apart on one of wellingtons main strips and it does not fail to deliver. The food and drinks are good without being amazing but what sets this place apart is the atmosphere and interior design that is like no other in wellington. You will feel like you have been swept away upon entering. Its a... More

I was looking for places to eat when I was going to Wellington for a day and a few sites I encountered mentioned this restaurant. With a late flight back, I decided to have dinner here before I headed out to the airport. I am very partial to pork dishes and I always order the roast pork if they have... More

Well "Wellington on a Plate" started today and we scrutinised the offerings for Friday Lunch. Decided on the Bangalore Polo Club in Courtenay and absolutely the right choice. The restaurant is eclectic and does remind vaguely of the colonial era a la Raffles in Singapore, just, However, the highlight is the lunch for $25 (with a glass of Porters Martinborough... More

We had a nice few drinks and meal here on a Sunday night. Service was excellent and the meals (tapas style) were very good. I'm still not sure about all the peanuts/shells everywhere - but it's just one of the things people do there apparently!

This place looks great, I don't think I have been to a restaurant that is so well decked out. The staff where friendly and made a big effort. The location of the restaurant is superb can't beat Courtney Place for a night out. So far 10 out of 10. Then came the meal I ordered the steak, and was told... More

Took my Mum and two daughters here for a pre-theatre meal. My girls love the peanuts and take great delight in being allowed to throw the shells on the floor as it goes against everything they've been taught and t's huge fun. It was the 2nd night of the new menu so we were given a good introduction by the... More

Clearly a hip place to go. Had a nice buzz to it, music good and the wine was excellent. Just snacked at the bar and must say the Pate was divine, we really do recommend this place if in Courtney Place.

Visited twice & enjoyed the great service (William make brilliant cocktails esp. the long island tea) Have this wonderful culture of providing peanuts then throwing them on the floor! Late nights it's 'crunch city" - outside where you can sit near enclosed fires, inside where you can sit in the ambiance of dimmed burgundy lighting and plush leather style chairs...a... More

A friend invited me to the Monday night special which was one choice of Butter Chicken curry (but you could have it mild medium or hot) and a beer (there own home brewed one) for $15. We paid an extra $3 for naan bread on top. The beer was quite good (Im a Tui man myself) and the meal was... More
