This French themed eatery is worth locating in Kaiwharawhara, Wellington. There is a bus stop immediately outside but it's a bit of a walk from the city, although that's not a bad thing as my lunch time meal was calorie laden ++.The casual dining area was full but tables turned over quickly. You order at the deli with a choice... More

Had brunch at La Cloche this weekend and was very surprised at how bad the food was. The rosti with fried egg was dreadful - an egg sized lump of gluey potato with a slice of tomato and no obvious cheese flavour with a fried egg on top, a small salad garnish and three thin slices of baguette. Those eating... More

I visited La Cloche last Sunday. Although I am not a great fan of some seafood I decided to try their Seafood Casserole. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't care much for mussels but all the other seafood was great. The sauce was not heavy and the pasta noodles were not sticky. Overall a good dish. The only thing I... More

There is a wide selection of French pastries and small cakes to choose from and some delicious drinks. The food, drink and service was excellent but there was not much room between tables.

I came here a couple of months ago with my Father, he wanted to take me as I'm a foodie and he is a French teacher and had been previously for work functions. I also went again today with my sister and friend. Really love this café, so cute and the atmosphere and environment is so frenchy, not to mention... More

La Cloche is out of the city - so we made a decision to drive there and were not disappointed - still as good as we remembered. Cabinet food as well as a blackboard menu - with a good offering. A French atmosphere in Wellington - worth a visit

We have eaten lunch at La Cloche several times. The menu is interesting, the coffee wonderfuk, and a good wine selection. Prices are average for Wellington lunch offerings. I especially recommend the interesting salads.

The four of us arrived at 10am for brunch, and got in just in time, as by 10.30 a queue was forming at the counter. A blackboard menu gives a wide range of breakfast and lunch options. Order at the counter and take a seat. Three of us ordered the omelette which came well-filled and with ample salad. I enjoyed... More

This cafe is expensive - and the food is....shall I say....boring. We had two hotdogs $19 each with French fries and a couple of lettuce leaves. Other than the salad I could eat nothing with my knife and fork.....it was all so "crisp" that it shattered on first impact. The kiddies options are very limited. Be prepared to pay. Lots.... More

A very pleasant cafe - a little out of the city but worth the journey. We had the seafood casserole for lunch yesterday - a great choice. One thing missing - if we were eating in France we would have had a basket of bread to mop up the sauce! Friendly service - good coffee.
