Although a lot of new cafes have opened up around the Cuba St area, Fidel's continues to be the best funky cafe. And now the "outdoor " rear seating area is smoke free. The food is great the staff good the prices right. I continue to come back time and time again

Busy little café, often crowded and great food. Staff quite good and attentive. Only downside here is the wait to get in and the toilet - there is only one and its not clean - sort it out Fidels.

Good coffee by Havana that is done justice by the baristas. The service was great, right onto it with a friendly smile. There was a buzzing vibe to the place but the banana bread and mascarpone was just ok. Generous serving size but a little dry and lacking flavour. Im sure there other menu items are great though.

After having our fish and chip tea, we decided to let it settle and then headed to "Fidel's" or a cup of "coffee". having not booked and arriving just out of the blue we couldn't be seated inside so we were shown to the outdoor smokers garden which was not our preferred area as we dont smoke and we could... We really enjoyed our lunch at Fidel's. Very tasty and good attentive service - we kept getting more top ups of water. There's a v cool vibe, inkeeping with the rest of wellington. Theres a great selection of cold salads and hot options. I had the egg and bacon bap - which was very modest but tasty. The coffee is... More

The pizza deal was good. If you have a large pizza (decent size for one person to eat or two to share if you're not that hungry) and order after 4 you to get two bottles of Asahi beer for $20. We were ready to order at 3:55 but the waitress wouldn't take the order because it wasn't 4pm yet.... More

I go to Fidel's often, and consistently it is disappointing when it comes to service. I understand a wait when they are fill to capacity as they often are, but the servers are also forgetful and it is not surprising when the wrong drink arrives or you just never get your coffee. I understand this cafe has a "relaxed" atmosphere,... More

I really enjoyed this quirky joint on Cuba street. It was a lovely warm break from a cold Winter's night. The menu has an interesting and delicious variety. I ordered the chicken and Haloumi salad and my friend ordered the Snitzel, both of which were substantial and tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient, and made good recommendations. I found...
