Pleasant surprise

We went in to have a simple dinner on a Tuesday night, it was quite quiet and late in the evening. The salmon and lamb dishes were cooked to perfection.

After a world cup cricket match we were hungry for dinner and we were staying up the road at the Southern Cross Apartments. We had a fantastic steak and lamb dish - just what we needed. We will definitely go there again when in Wellington.

Heard a lot about this place from people I work with so decided to check it out last Tuesday with a friend. We sat outside and were greeted buy a young guy, proper friendly and good service all around. Had one of the yummiest mochas I've had in Welly here too. Try the classic pancakes with bacon and bananas, really... More

Firstly we really loved the coffee, well made and presented and, importantly, tasted great! Best coffee in nz thus far!! Also decided to eat as other diners food looked nice, the smoked Salmon cakes with poached egg and hollandaise was perfect! But what we really enjoyed was the service. The owner David came out for a chat and we really... More

We asked a number of locals where the best place to eat was in Wellington and 3 out of 3 people recommended plum- and we weren't disappointed! The atmosphere inside was great, we had a fabulous waiter who was just hilarious and the food was good. I had the lamb sliders and my partner had the beef burger. I was... More

We had a meal at the Plum Cafe. We sat outside as it was a lovely evening. I had the lamb. It was absolutely delicious and my wife Also enjoyed the fish and chips. Good beer as well. Service was also first class.

We went there on a Saturday night, having walked down Cuba Street where all our favourites were full - we have been to Plum for breakfast and it was great but dinner was slow, ordinary and expensive for what it was. It is only cafe after all! The service was great with nice people serving but the kitchen was slow.... More

Excellent service at all round decent cafe. $50 for one portion of pancakes and one full breakfast with hot drinks. Food was easy to demolish and was served with a smile. Staff were pleasant and attentive, so all in all, a decent stop for a weekend breakfast.

We got slices in the cabinet. They were cheaper than usual which should have signalled something to us... Absolutely gross and nasty. Service was rude and ostensibly nosy, looking at us and our plates every time they walked to the kitchen. I wouldn't go back.

Took our grandson (14) for two nights in the city. Had breakfast at "Plum". it was a treat. Just loved the variety on the menu. I had boring old scrambled eggs - beautifully boring. The rest of the group were more adventuresome . Great service -calm and efficient,
