Great beer and fish

I am Not big on fish, but I have to say the fish and chips was quite outstanding. Put this together with a craft beer and you have the perfect match. Surprised at the negative reviews here, as the food, atmosphere and service were superb. Go and enjoy

I attended a private function at Dockside and was overly impressed by how well they ran the evening. There was more than enough very friendly staff to ensure that no one was left waiting at the bar for a drink whilst others were making their way around the floor serving delicious finger food.

Following a less than acceptable experience a year ago, we returned this evening. It was a busy evening with many people in town. We had a lovely meal with some special family visitors and we all enjoyed it. The service was pretty good too.

We ate the Fish of the day, Fresh John Dory with Potato Gratin and coleslaw. It was OK but nothing really special. My fish was a little overcooked.

Lovely venue right by the harbour for local ferries and cruises - not the big stuff of the interislander; a carefully chosen menu with a mixture of fish and meat dishes to allow diners to eat as they wished; had a large range of craft beers and a limited range of good wines, not always at reasonable prices; lunches were... We took a chance on this place even though we felt the main course menu was limited. I had the Fish and Chips - fish was excellent, fries were so-so. Enjoyed the view on the water and a friendly server.

Tried their famous Fish n Chips and was delightfully surprised by the scenic view. Good service and reasonably priced comfort food. Would highly recommend thus place.

Had dinner at dockside with colleagues. First time eating here. Great location. I grabbed aseat by the window for the view. There was a reasonable number of us but the courses came out in good time. I ordered the Pork belly starter, followed by the steak and for desert, the strawberry meregne. Pork belly. A fraction on the dry side... More

We went to the Dockside restaurant for a meal on chance while walking along the quayside and were not dissapointed. The meal was excellent, with the mussels a particular joy. Certainly worth a visit if you are looking for a meal on the front in Wellington

We called in at the Dockside quite by chance on New Years Day, we had been walking along the coast and just wanted to relax and a have a long leisurely lunch and that's exactly what we had. We sat in a section of the restaurant overlooking the dock, the food was just delicious the wine recommended by the lovely... More
