Best gelato in Wellington, and they allow you to sample before deciding. Despite often being busy they never rush you to make up your mind. If you can handle it (or want to share) it is cheaper to buy it by the litre.

This place is exactly what travelers need after a long trip. Drop in for a warm environment, good people, and a great cup of coffee/joe. I went a little crazy and got some gelato and pastries and was not disappointed. I would suggest it for a casual date and even a business meeting.

I love stopping in here for a gelato because the boys behind the counter are lovely and chatty and knowledgable about what they are serving. The cafe has a nice atmosphere, but I've never had anything other than gelato and coffee at Kaffee Eis, so I'm not judging it on its entire menu. The flavours of gelato available are surprising... Kaffee Eis has reliably good gelato and the staff always appear friendly and approachable. Prices are reasonable ($4.50 for a sizeable scoop in a cup, which is the perfect size for one person or two if you're not a big sweets person). There are a variety of interesting flavours, covering fruits, chocolates, and unusual options such as after eight (choc... More

Great choice of flavors - not just the typical chocolate and vanilla but passion fruit, coconut, after eight and black Doris plum to name a few. Generous serving size at a reasonable price. After our first visit, it became a daily afternoon break.

I ate at all the Kaffe Eis places (Cuba st, Courtney place and Frank Kitts) over the summer numerous times as we spent all summer in Wellington. Each time the gelato was delish but I noticed the cones always had a rancid taste. Every single time. My sister came to stay and we got a gelato from Cuba St. I... More

Amazing gelato! I wasn't fully with it when ordering- I'd recommend getting the kids size if you're not super hungry. I ordered the small in a cone and it was huge. I know for next time. I went to the location by the boathouse. It as lovely to watch the rowers (burning calories) while I gobbled down some delicious gelato.... More

We didn't know what to expect but decided to get an ice cream after a hot day in the sun by following a huge crowd into Kaffe Eis. The Gelato were very tasty and loads of unusual but great flavours on offer. We had Fijoa and the Mango and Fijoa was the best ever!! Highly recommended to try this plaace... More

We visited the Courtney Place Kaffe Eis on a busy Saturday evening during WOW week. Whilst there was a queue to buy gelato the service was friendly and it didn't take long to be served. Our only disappointment was the cafe was full so we had to takeout. The gelato was great, the licorice flavour didn't disappoint. Would loved to... More
