Description: Awarded TWO HATS Good Food Awards 2013, Supreme Winner Resturant of the Year NZ 2009Nearly 20 years after Steve Logan founded the restaurant, Logan Brown is still showing newcomers how to do fine dining. The neo-classical interior remains as plush as ever, drawing diners who wouldn’t normally brave the upper reaches of hipster Cuba St, while competent, confident service encourages adventurous choices from the Bible-length wine list. The kitchen, headed by Shaun Clouston, continues to turn out innovative, but not gimmicky, food. There’s a strong emphasis on local and seasonal flavours, with a nod to the huntin’, shootin’ and fishin’ enjoyed by the restaurant’s founders. The Rangitikei lamb rack, for example, comes with a full-bodied rabbit bolognese; the succulent line-caught snapper with tuatua fritters. Classic Kiwi flavours are embraced and showcased with a sense of humour – don’t miss the hokey pokey ice-cream sandwich. In brief: style, service and food you can bank on Said international guest judge, Ralph-Kyte Powell, "If I had to select an international flagship for New Zealand cuisine. Logan Brown would be hard to go past"

A suprise birthday treat that was a lovely dining experience. Everything was spot on, the food, the atmosphere, the quality and presentation of the food and the friendly but well trained staff. They have two sittings - 5.30 and 7.30? (I think!) we took the earlier option which worked well for us. Definately recommended.

We dined at Logan Brown. We found the service was warm and genuine although without any specific assistance offered for the wine list. We ate a broad cross section of the menu and the cooking is of a very high standard. The entree with wild hare was beautifully executed as was the starter of a raviolo with paua. All in... More

Our group of 16 went to Logan-Brown for lunch. We were seated immediately. Our waiter happened to be the same waiter we'd had at the Wellington Intercontinental. He is extraordinaire! One of the best waiters I've ever had. Our lunch was 3-course and the entree came straight away. Then the wait came. A long long wait for the second course.... More

We were looking for a fresh creative tasting menu with wine pairings and we found a fantastic one. The tasting menu is offered on Saturday nights. Each course was splendid, flavorful, beautiful, creative. The wine pairings (NZ, of course) were delicious and fun. Service was personable, committed and knowledgeable. We've been fortunate to eat at some very fine restaurants in... More

The food was stellar. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was warm and lovely. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. Everything we ate was positively delicious. While it is a pricey restaurant, it is worth every penny, as we are still talking about it several months later!

Planned well in advance. They confirmed the day before. They kindly agreed to do a personalised birthday dessert with candle for my companion. For a top class restaurant, was disappointed that: we were squashed between two other tables when there were loads of other, separate tables available; seemed necessary to have music in the background; winelist somewhat cryptic; service friendly... We dined at Logan Brown on a cold wet evening. The restaurant was warm and welcoming. Our meal was truly excellent. Really tasty bread (two sorts) to begin, and no charge for this. Our entrees (crispy skinned gurnard with crab, smoky tomato and fresh corn) were full of flavour and very generously sized. The mains were also of a good... More

We visited Logan Brown for a special birthday celebration. We did the Bistro menu, which meant we had to be out by 7.30pm, but for the price and with kids, this was absolutely fine. Kids were treated well, with their own menu and quiz to keep them occupied. It was a great experience with delicious food.

We were located to a small room, where lady clients were received when the premises were a bank, with just 3 tables and our 'own' waitress having arrived 'on spect'. Excellent food, friendly help with great wine and good service.

Dined on the Saturday night 7 course degestation menu. Loved every bite of every dish! Left there feeling pleasently full- not too stuffed and not still hungry. We had mentioned to our waitress that we were on our honeymoon, and when dessert came out they had written "Happy Honeymoon" in chocolate on the plate, which I thought was a nice... More
