Description: Awarded TWO HATS Good Food Awards 2013, 2014, Supreme Winner Restaurant of the Year NZ 2009. Nearly 20 years after Steve Logan founded the restaurant, Logan Brown is still showing newcomers how to do fine dining. The neo-classical interior remains as plush as ever, drawing diners who wouldn't normally brave the upper reaches of hipster Cuba St, while competent, confident service encourages adventurous choices from the Bible-length wine list. The kitchen, headed by Shaun Clouston, continues to turn out innovative, but not gimmicky, food. There's a strong emphasis on local and seasonal flavours, with a nod to the huntin', shootin' and fishin' enjoyed by the restaurant's founders. The Rangitikei lamb rack, for example, comes with a full-bodied rabbit bolognese; the succulent line-caught snapper with tuatua fritters. Classic Kiwi flavours are embraced and showcased with a sense of humour - don't miss the hokey pokey ice-cream sandwich. In brief: style, service and food you can bank on Said international guest judge, Ralph-Kyte Powell, "If I had to select an international flagship for New Zealand cuisine. Logan Brown would be hard to go past"

I booked in for my parents anniversary to take them out for dinner here at Logan Brown, which we were very much looking forward BUT however, as we started into the entree's we found a large bit of masking tape which is used in the kitchen, and i'm talking quite large, when mentioned to the MD on, she didn't seem... Celebration mid week dinner, looked forward to this meal and very happy with the experience. Staff attentive without being obtrusive. The selection of dishes took some time as there were a number of possibilities. Food quality was simply superb, was nice to be able to have wine available by the glass for the different courses. Is on the list for... More

I always wanted to dine at Logan Brown and was pleasantly surprised when my husband booked us a weekend away in Wellington with a Saturday night at this superior restaurant. The building itself is stunning and well appointed. We were seated in a private booth with only two other tables in view, which made it really special. We opted for... More

Years ago I visited this restaurant where we were kind of rushed through our meals and it was obvious they wanted us to eat fast to enable quicker turn around of paying customers. This experience stopped me revisiting - until recently. I am glad I came back. A huge difference and we had a very enjoyable evening with great attention... More

We dined at Logan Brown on Sat Dec 13. We had the Bistro Menu. This is excellent value at around $50 per head. The food was presented beautifully and was cooked to perfection. Looking at the menu although limited I could have ordered the lot. There was not one dish I did no care for. The cocktails are divine and... More

Had their festive bistro menu for lunch. The food was top notch, excellent flavours. A shame they continue to charge outrageous prices for wine like the $ 92 for a half bottle of champagne.

The octagonal shaped building, former Bank of New Zealand, is historically stunning and the interior setup elegant welcoming. The ambiance is also unusually refined and quiet for a place in this part of the world. Was there on a Saturday evening where they serve only their degustation menu with 5 or 7 courses at 8 PM sharp. They will ask... More

We booked late for a party of 10 - on the day that we wanted to eat at Logan Brown, and, as we had little ones with us, decided to opt for the "bistro" menu from 5.30. Not at all bistro, more fine dining especially when we added recommended wines with each course. Superb food, great service an all round... More

In November 2014 I went for a business lunch at Logan Brown, and the lunch was themed the fresh Friday lunch. There was no menu, but on arrival (greeted with a glass of wine) the chef announced what the menu would be. Great food, beetroot infusion salmon, followed by pork, with lovely bread and a glass of wine. The food,... More
