Awarded TWO HATS Good Food Awards 2013, 2014, Supreme Winner Restaurant of the Year NZ 2009. Nearly 20 years after Steve Logan founded the restaurant, Logan Brown is still showing newcomers how to do fine dining. The neo-classical interior remains as plush as ever, drawing diners who wouldn't normally brave the upper reaches of hipster Cuba St, while competent, confident service encourages adventurous choices from the Bible-length wine list. The kitchen, headed by Shaun Clouston, continues to turn out innovative, but not gimmicky, food. There's a strong emphasis on local and seasonal flavours, with a nod to the huntin', shootin' and fishin' enjoyed by the restaurant's founders. The Rangitikei lamb rack, for example, comes with a full-bodied rabbit bolognese; the succulent line-caught snapper with tuatua fritters. Classic Kiwi flavours are embraced and showcased with a sense of humour - don't miss the hokey pokey ice-cream sandwich. In brief: style, service and food you can bank on Said international guest judge, Ralph-Kyte Powell, "If I had to select an international flagship for New Zealand cuisine. Logan Brown would be hard to go past"

Simply outstanding

I dined here with my partner and I have to say it was one of the best restaurants I've been too. The food was outstanding and the service was superb! I cannot speak highly enough of Logan Brown!

The staff were incredibly - polite, friendly and very professional. Our food was faultless - absolutely delicious and worth every cent as this was a treat for both my partner and I. The restaurant had a great atmosphere that allowed us to enjoy our time here without being interrupted/distracted by other diners. We left very satisfied.

What an experience. It was excellent from when we were greeted at the door until we had our last drink and left. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and head chef. If you want a treat this is the place to be.

We recently visited here to try the degustation menu, and were very pleasantly surprised. We found all of the staff members extremely friendly and helpful, especially the young man who was assigned our table. There was no delay with water refills or wine orders as the night progressed. The food was absolutely outstanding, and was served so promptly we needed... More

Not so long ago we had an Otaki Lions dinner here and I would love to go back with our Kapiti 4 Seasons Travel Group for seniors. Food was very good value. Glynis, Kapiti 4 Seasons Tours

There is a reason this restaurant has consistently glowing reviews. It is a non-pretentious restaurant that focuses on incredible food and great service. The building is an old bank and the restaurant is more in the cosy realm of design than spacious and opulent. You go for the food which favours NZ cuisine, wild game, fresh seafood and fish and... Logan Brown has always been one of the better restaurants in Wellington and we were again impressed on this visit. The five course degustatione we had was uniformly excellent (although the paua ravioli was particularly awesome) and the wines chosen as a match were superb. And very much value for money. Great service and the lovely dining room added to... More

Fine dining, beautifully presented and full of flavour. We had the set menu, starting plate of tapas, lamb neck, 4 bean salad followed by a delicious chocolate dessert. Pricey but worth every cent.

Saturday night seven course Degustation dining experience was booked with only the website descriptions of what was on offer, the on line menu looked very interesting so we arrived on a horrible Wellington southerly blowing outside, cold and wet. A very warm and friendly welcome upon arrival and were shown to the upstairs dining area where 4 tables for couples... More

The reputation is deserved. The food was delicious and filling. Not the cheapest, but I'd expect nothing less for a quality dining experience
