Wonderful High Tea

Me and some friends went for the High Tea 2 weeks ago. You can have a choice of Museum High Tea at $39; with bubbles or a Cocktail at $45. When I made a booking they asked if anyone was either lactose or gluten intolerant. I said that one of our party was. When we were served our High Tea... read more

I've never actually had a meal here before, I've only tried their desserts and cocktails - both of which are divine! The service is immaculate and I love the furniture, especially the gorgeous fabric on everything including the menus! So many cool details to discover in this place!

We made the wrong choice, the most disappointed thing was that the place was empty, we were sitting in a huge restaurant and bar with 6 staff and only 7 people including us for the first hour then after 8 pm 6 more people arrived, that made the evening very flat with the staff hovering around. The Restaurant and bar... More

Its hardly cheap, but the work that goes into the quality of the food and its presentation is spectacular, all in rich and romantic setting situated on the waterfront windows of the 3rd floor. It was a busy night, so my service was a bit wanting, especially since I was dining alone ….

This wonderfully decorated and cozy restaurant boasts wonderful views of Oriental Parade and overlooks Te Papa making the location very good. The devastation menu was wonderfully prepared and the staff painstakingly serve ever need including little surprises here and there. The Wine pairing was very well done, offering interesting and slightly unusual combinations which makes this restaurant one of the... More

GARCON REGRETS... Wellington, in the North Island of New Zealand is well endowed with restaurants and one of the more interesting ones carried the odd, and intriguing name of 'Hippopotamus'. This was sited as part of, and within, the Museum Art Hotel, appropriately right opposite a museum. It was intriguing for two reasons. When I was in work I used... More

Look... I will tell you up front that we did not eat here... but we had a beautifully served cup of tea and a beer. The place is amazing and sooo eclectic with old chandeliers hanging in the same space as modern ones, french art and mirrors on the wall, a moterbike, a rocking horse and and each area has... More

This restaurant firms part of the Museum Hotel which has most unusual decor throughout. However, the service was very friendly (mostly French waiters) and the food excellent. I had Sashimi if salmon and an excellent vegetarian risotto. My Partner had an unusual salade Nicoise and duck. All dishes were excellent as was the 2010 Kidnapper Cliffs Cabernet Sauvignon.
