This place was highly recommended by a friend, so when in Taupo tonight we walked in. We got a good table right away and had excellent service from three different staff, everyone very pleased to help us. We ordered three tapas and a dessert, and found that amount of food perfect for the two of us. Somehow this place manages... More

As a Taupo local, this has been one of my favourite places to drink wine and dine. After being closed for a few weeks new management took over last week, and we couldn't wait to get back there to eat - and hoping not much had changed. First disappointment was that the wait staff seemed mostly new, our regular barman... More

I cannot rave highly enough. The food was divine. The staff were very friendly. We did have a few minor hiccups with cutlery, but if I lived on Taupo, it would be my local. I'll be back!!

This was our second night out for dinner in Taupo on our trip and by far it was the best. A really chilled out restaurant that has great food, great service, but a laid back feel. The restaurant decor is quite simple, but quirky. It was a Tuesday so quite quiet, but still had a buzz compared to other restaurants... More

We had an excellent early dinner. The beetroot salad was superb and the special of the night (spicy prawn spaghetti) was equally delicious. Reasonably priced.

Always great food and great service. Fantastic place to have a drink with friends and share from the tapas menu. I meet a friend here every six weeks for lunch and a catch up, we are treated like old friends by the girls who work here. The staff are great and full of knowledge regarding the menu and make the... Went on a recent trip to the North Island and was very pleasantly surprised by the meal served up here. We had the mixed plates of Tapas and an excellent cheese plate for afters, all washed down with some rather good Marlborough sauv blanc.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Vine Eatery when we were holidaying in Taupo recently. We are from Sydney and this style of modern eatery is familiar to us. We shared delicious plates of food that included figs, aubergine, mussels and chicken dishes. A delightful touch was the chef coming out of the kitchen introducing himself... More

Having read good reviews of The Vine, we were looking forward to a good meal. However, we were very disappointed. The menu promised much - and we ordered a variety of dishes but found that most did not live up to their description - the exception being the black pudding which was delicious. Individual dishes were small but pricey. The... More

i agree with the other reviewer that the shared dishes were a dis appointment in size for the price. They were beautifully presented mind you, If the price had been more reasonable we would have had more -but we left and got a Thai takeaway to satisfy our hunger. The atmosphere and service were very good and it is a good... More
