This place was wonderful. It reminded me of Barcelona. A lot of work has been put into the mosaics which followed through to the cafe and even the toilet. The food was delicious. If you are in Taupo visit this cafe you won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing licensed cafe that is in Acacia Bay. The locals regularly frequent it but not many tourists know about it. It's worth the 7 km trip from town - great food, good service and an amazing place. The cafe owner's mother is an artist and has made life sized mosaics which make you think you are in... More

shaded and cool areas to sit in and enjoy your coffee and cake, breakfast or lunch, but most notable were the mosaic and other pottery in the garden.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to have lunch at L'arte in Taupo. I have to say, the food was fantastic with very creative combinations. Probably the best part was the garden which was a gallery of fabulous huge mosaics and other art. I've been to the Giant's House in Akaroa which was terrific too but you had to pay $20... More

Stopped here for coffee but only really came to see the art. I think were were spoilt by the Giants House in Akoroa as this is a whole garden filled with art and statues and puts this one to shame, although here you are allowed to buy it.

The art in this place is fantastic! It is worth the drive to see it. most art is for sale, and there is a small shop there also with a variety of art, jewellery etc. The food is very good too.

Awesome "cutlery kiwis". Kids bacon and eggs on toast a smash hit. The garden sculptures are worth a saunter around. heck, you might even buy one.

It's always a treat visiting this cafe. The mosaic garden is fun for young and old to explore. It's not the cheapest cafe in the world but the food and coffee is great.

Found this as our friend is a Taupo resident. And what a find it is. A mixture of fantastic food n drink, together with unique pottery, art, mosaics amd other curiosities. Set in a lovely spot just 10/15 min drive from Taupo centre. Love all the mosaic furniture-the first piece being a huge blue armchair which shows you the right... More
