Visited for lunch this week to try something new. We've tried a few seafood places around Taranaki and been a little disappointed with the food we received. However my father's always raved about the seafood at Marinovich's so we thought we'd stop by for lunch with our toddler. The restaurant was nice and clean and relatively quiet. The lunch menu... The service was very poor. On entry to this restaurant asked if we could have a table for two and was told "just go and find a seat" Was quite a while before we were served, the two waitresses were busy talking behind the bar. Ordered Bluff oysters as opposed to North Island oysters. They were big puffy battered oysters... More

Although we only stayed one night in New Plymouth it happened to be my birthday so we decided to have a really nice meal. We were not disappointed

After 36 hours in the air we decided to eat here. I had the seafood platter and it tasted amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The 'experienced' waitress was so kind and helpful and my favorite quote of hers was "we don't have a fancy computer that tells you what you can and can't order... More

A little disappointing for a restaurant that specialises in "seafood". Would probably be best described as a good place for fish and chips. We both ordered flounder which was ok but we were not expecting it to be battered! Even the prawns in the starter were cooked in batter.

This is my go-to place for the best seafood dinners in New Plymouth - especially the flounder and the whitebait fritters. The meals are generous in size and the chefs know how to get the most out of their fresh ingredients, and the prices are reasonable. There is heaps of on-street parking nearby. If you're driving to Marinovich's be aware... More
