Blue cod

Casual dinning at its best. If you want silver service then this is not your place. My brother and I had the most marvellous blue cod dinner. Wine is good but not great selection and pricing is up there but I go there every time I am in New Plymouth. If there is no cod try the scallops, crumbed... read more

I was visiting New Plymouth on business and found it an informal /casual place to dine after a long day. However, disappointed that fish and chips (some were greasy) can be so expensive. I paid a total of $41.00 which included a glass of wine. Outrageous price for a simple dinner.

This place was an informal dining experience but served wine and beer but the prices would be suited to more fancy restaurants. We paid $32 for a flounder with chips we thought this was too expensive.

Would have to be the nicest Fish and chips we have ever had. The owner lady was so helpful with our ordering as we only had a limited time before a concert. Would tell anyone to go there.

We were in New Plymouth for the weekend and were recommended to go to Marinovich's by a local. We were not disappointed. We both had the seafood chowder with hand cut chips on the side. I had the entree size as my main and my husband had the main. It was delicious and would certainly return again. The service was... More

After reading the reviews decided to give this eating establishment a try. My colleague and I were pleasantly surprised. While the friendly waitron was not particularly knowledgeable about the seafood offered the meals we chose (whitebait, scallops, chowder and red cod) were very good. Simple vey fresh seafood is always a treat. Nothing pretentious about the simple café surroundings but... More

I went here with no expectations, it was close to my hotel. The staff were friendly and my meal was delicous. I didn't want a big meal so ordered a salad. The scallops were perfectly cooked, slightly under done in the center, perfect! I will be back again next time I am in New Plymouth

Really felt like oysters and was not disappointed - they were delicious. The chunky chips are great, but because of their "chunkiness" tend to get a little dry towards the middle.

We went here on the recommendation of our Rough Guides book and we weren't disappointed. Excellent food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Would definitely return if we come back to New Plymouth.
