Great Atmosphere

As a new resident in this town, I have enjoyed the occasions and experiences when I have come to this Pub. Very hospitable staff, great generous, sized portioned meals. Great location and atmosphere for big groups.

Great Atmosphere, awesome bands with a varied Genre and great dance floor out in Garden Bar area. Inside can be a bit hustle bustle when busy for lunches due to their big sized ,not too badly priced meals. YUM. Service is always very good and complaints handled efficiently, we have watered and fed ourselves many times here while visiting Rotorua.... More

Delicious food and great service. Meals are generous and tasty. There are a variety of mains to choose from. I have returned many times and will continue to do so. Pork belly is my favourite dish so far.... Actually I haven't tried anything else yet as the pork belly is too delish 😊

With such a name not sure what to expect - but we got a big table, bloody good feed, alcoholic variety, G8 band & dance floor - what else does one a group need to dance nite away...

Always enjoy my meals here. Garlic pizza is the best and the seafood chowder is always a hit with me. Yummy.

My wife and our flatmates took me to Pig and Whistle as my first dine out experience in New Zealand. To cut it short, it's very good overall for me. The ambience is good and relaxing that night. The food serving is huge. There can be some improvement in some food(like taste and some are a little overcooked) but overall... More

Unfortunately for us, the rugby was on when we went there for dinner. It was busy and quite loud, and while the meals looked fantastic and were very large portions, they were a bit over cooked. I'd give them another chance though, could be much better on a slower night.

As a rotorua local I have always thought of the Pig as the best bar in town. Good entertainnent in the form of some really good home grown bands every week and numerous big screen tvs for all the big sporting events. They also gave great pub style meals. The only not so goid comment I gave is that it... More
