Had a good meal here. Portions rather on the large side, but very nice. Prices fairly reasonable. Plain and fancy dishes to appeal to everyone. Would recommend.

The service was a bit slow, although we were there on Easter weekend, so that is to be expected. There was a band, but they didn't play long. The food wasn't fantastic, but it was good quality for bar food and the portions were large.

This is not a bad place, but it is nothing special. We had a pub lunch which was quite alright, but I don't think I would bother going back again..

We have had lunch at the Pig and Whistle many times over the past twenty years. Our recent visit was the first in a couple of years and we were delighted to see it was as good as ever. The food tends to be "pub grub", reasonably priced and the curly tail fries are a speciality. However we chose healthier... More

This old historic pub in in the main CBD area of Rotorua and was originally a police station. It has a restaurant serving good quality (huge portions) pub food and a wide range of local and imported beers and wines. The food was good but certainly not gourmet dining and the ambience as one would expect from a noisy large... More

The ribs were mediocre to my surprise, the fish was very good, the beer was very good. We did expect a warmer and kinder environment. Family style sitting was fine. The servers could have been more accommodating. It was a confusing atmosphere in that we were not sure where to sit and where to order.

My friend and I figured that while in New Zealand, with all the sheep farms, we've give it a try here. The place wasn't too hard to find and the parking was ample along... More
