We stopped here for a bite to eat. The Pig and Whistle has been around for a very long time and have been to the pub numerous times when taking friends and family to Rotorua. The pub is well kept and has a good outside dining area. The choice of beer and food is also good. The price of the... More

Superb atmosphere, reasonable pricing. Order to share! Unless you are feeling ridiculously hungry! Best seafood chowder outside the US!

After a road trip and soak in a hot water waterfall hidden in native bush (secret place) we decided a good meal was needed.....the first place that came to mind was the Pig and whistle and their awesome pork spare ribs in bourbon and plum sauce. I would suggest this to any lover of spare ribs with a healthy appetite... More

The service after giving our order was very quick and the meal was better than a lot of pubs. No need for dessert as the meal was very filling along with... More

This is bar service, but with the variety of drinks and the quality of food, we came back several times during our stay in Rotorua. Not bad value for money either!

For the gentlemen, they enjoyed the four beers. My husband really enjoyed the swine lager boutique. My friend enjoyed spight beer best, a local brew. We shared the "pigtail" fries, or curley fries. Not seasoned but the aioli that came with it was fantastic. We also shared the Dipping basket platter, great variety. Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the chicken... More

My sister and I recently dined at the Pig and Whistle for lunch while on holidays and were blown away by the size and quality of the meals. I ordered the pumpkin croquettes with vegetarian curry and salad and it was HUGE. The croquettes were so delicious (3 generous sized pieces) and the vegetarian curry (also delicious) came with rice... More
