I've been to the Pig and Whistle many times after a day mountain biking, quad biking or tramping and it's always a warm spot with great food. Their burgers are worth a try and the staff always friendly. Just don't go there before they are having a live band on, we had lunch while listening to a terrible sound check... More

We ate at the Pig and Whistle again on a recent twowheeltours MTB tour in Rotorua. The meals are still huge, flavoursome and the service prompt. Perfect for hungry cyclists. We'll be back.

Came here for lunch and had a great meal. Lamb salad for dad and harrisa chicken salad for mum, both were amazing. Kids had to have the curly fries and fizz. Awesome service, great place.

We found this restaurant thanks to one of the major guide books which described it as a must visit. So we did. Nice decor inside, not what I was expecting, but I liked it. Very cosy. The service was very good; our meals which were very tasty also and much needed after walking around Rotorua. The Fish and chips were... More

Steak and mushroom pie was lukewarm with a disappointing 4 pieces of steak. On a positive note my daughter liked the Mac and cheese, but she is 3 and still enjoys eating mud. The Guineas was good.

My wife and I recently had a very enjoyable lunch at the Pig and Whistle in Rotorua. We only found the pub by accident and consequently we were greatly impressed with the food, service and atmosphere. We ordered fish and chips which was very well cooked and presented. The Pig and Whistle is an Irish Pub that was previously a... More

Meat is generally of top quality anywhere in New Zealand but Pig and Whistle really nailed it with their lamb rack. Cozy pub ambience, great place to catch your breath while travelling or have a super satisfying dinner. Great value and decent prices.

Had a wonderful meal here on Saturday night. The wait staff were great, and the meals just wonderful. In our group we had the ribs, the lamb steak, the fish and the Beef Snitzel. All meals were well cooked and presented. We had a bread and dips entree with the most amazing beetroot dip I have ever tasted. They were... More
