Description: Where to look first, outwards, upwards or at the live chef displays... Set high on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, Stratosfare is the newest hot spot on Rotorua's burgeoning foodie scene. Luxurious Italian marble, granite, schist stonework and timber set the scene for a memorable experience where David Trubridge light frames your dinner setting for an evening that is sure to delight all your senses. Skilled chefs at their stations craft your cuisine, while cocktail connoisseurs mix and shake at the bar - and the sights don't stop - there's also an incredible 180 degree panorama of Lake Rotorua and the city to soak in amongst the atmosphere. Did we mention the menu? A range of cuisine is presented to tantalize your taste buds, from the tidal mussel tank, ensuring the freshest mussels you can find, to the flame rotisserie, aged prime cuts, Art of the Grill, seasonal salads and the freshly cooked-to-order crepes, we are sure you will leave wanting to come back again and again. Featuring a stunning array of freshly prepared buffet and cooked-to-order dishes highlighting locally sourced seafood, meat and produce, Stratosfare will take you on a gastronomic journey. Our commitment to quality begins long before our produce arrives at our pinnacle site. We work in partnership with local NZ farmers and growers who share our commitment to food excellence, from the pasture to the plate. Our award-winning Wagyu Angus cross fillet steak is just one example. Our prime beef comes from 16,000 hectares of coastal farms near Gisborne. The people of Mangatu Farms have been working their ancestral lands for more than 200 years. They can tell us exactly where the beef has come from, how it was reared and what it was fed. It's the little details like these that set our dining experience apart. We think you will be able to taste the difference too. Last dinner booking 8.30Pm.

We paid for a package which included a buffet lunch, gondola and 6 luge rides to share. The food was amazing. The selection was vast and absolutely will recommend to a family. We have two young children and even they enjoyed lunch so it was a day well spent with the other activities on offer too.

I went to Startosfare with my parents visiting from Canada. We were told that Stratosfare was a great restaurant to go if we were passing to Rotorua. What a great decision we made! The buffet is absolutely magnificent! A large variety of high quality food; salad bar with seafood, live meat station. International and local specialties (delicious curry mussels!!!), cheese... A buffet like no other, excellent service and even a show round of the food on offer on arrival which was great, lovely food for a buffet and plenty of choice. Something to please everyone and a great setting. Once they get air conditioning installed it will be much more comfortable as it was a hot summer evening and was... More

From the gondola ride to the view, this restaurant is worth the visit. The range of food was outstanding & we left very full! Service was prompt & friendly. We've also dined at their Queenstown location, but this restaurant is better!

Got recommended to this place for dinner by the kind folks at Arista. Pretty good value - for $64pp, you get the dinner buffet and gondola ride plus you can come back the next day for a free gondola ride during the day! If you consider that each gondola ride is $27, that's only $10 for the buffet dinner! For... More

We were seated promptly and the selection of food was good. It was a bit hot there even though we were by an open door. Staff were quick to clear plates.

when you are booking to take full advantage of the view otherwise one of the best views of Rotorua will be frustratingly far from your reach. A very very generous buffet serviced by smiling attentive staff with accompanying senses of humour! The all in charge for dinner includes a gondola ride up & back but not drinks, although charges for... More

Arrived well before our booking time, but were told there were no window seats availsble, but when one came up we would be moved. Well that did not happen! Other than that huge disappointment, the food was good and there was a large range.
