Where to look first, outwards, upwards or at the live chef displays... Set high on the side of Mount Ngongotaha, Stratosfare is the newest hot spot on Rotorua's burgeoning foodie scene. Luxurious Italian marble, granite, schist stonework and timber set the scene for a memorable experience where David Trubridge light frames your dinner setting for an evening that is sure to delight all your senses. Skilled chefs at their stations craft your cuisine, while cocktail connoisseurs mix and shake at the bar - and the sights don't stop - there's also an incredible 180 degree panorama of Lake Rotorua and the city to soak in amongst the atmosphere. Did we mention the menu? A range of cuisine is presented to tantalize your taste buds, from the tidal mussel tank, ensuring the freshest mussels you can find, to the flame rotisserie, aged prime cuts, Art of the Grill, seasonal salads and the freshly cooked-to-order crepes, we are sure you will leave wanting to come back again and again. Featuring a stunning array of freshly prepared buffet and cooked-to-order dishes highlighting locally sourced seafood, meat and produce, Stratosfare will take you on a gastronomic journey. Our commitment to quality begins long before our produce arrives at our pinnacle site. We work in partnership with local NZ farmers and growers who share our commitment to food excellence, from the pasture to the plate. Our award-winning Wagyu Angus cross fillet steak is just one example. Our prime beef comes from 16,000 hectares of coastal farms near Gisborne. The people of Mangatu Farms have been working their ancestral lands for more than 200 years. They can tell us exactly where the beef has come from, how it was reared and what it was fed. It's the little details like these that set our dining experience apart. We think you will be able to taste the difference too. Last dinner booking 8.30Pm.

I visited Rotorua with 2 friends in mid-May, and after visiting the geothermal village Te Puia we decided to go on the Skyline to look over Rotorua at sunset, not realising there was a restaurant at the top. We made a last minute booking for a table at Stratosfare and had an incredible buffet meal together! Our host, Roxx, was... More

I had dinner at Stratosfare before. This time I brought my friends here for lunch during holiday. for lunch service they don't offer cheese & antipasto and premium grill item. that is main difference with dinner service. However, both dinner and lunch, food is just lovely and fresh and beautifully presented. service is also great. from the arrival at restaurant... More

I recently took my 6 year old granddaughter for lunch, there was a wide variety of food available at a reasonable price. It was school holidays and the place was extremely busy. We were here with a conference - everything was very well organised. The food on their buffet is amazing from the seafood chowder through to the desserts. A nice range of seafood, a chef cooking steak etc while you wait - I was lucky enough to get a couple of pieces of venison. The staff were helpful - the city... More

This venue stands out for being no ordinary buffet. The buffet is outstanding; fresh, varied, plentiful, choice of meats cooked in front of you. Something for everybody. On top of this you have the amazing view of Rotorua to enjoy and then you can work off lunch or dinner by luging, ziplining or hurtling yourself down the mountain bike track!... More

The view from the restaurant is nice, but not spectacular. What makes this visit special is the quality and quantity of the food, terrific cuts of beef and lamb, an extensive selection of Asian foods and many nice salad, vegetable and dessert choices. The menu appears to be identical both for lunch and for dinner, so take advantage of the... More

Wait staff were all very nice and helpful. Never had a person go around showing me food options before. Recomended: spending an extra $10 on the wagyu is totally worth it. The garlic mussels are amazing as well There is overall a really good selection of food ranging from pasta to authentic butter chicken to dumplings
