perfectly acceptable but not 'great'

We got s bit baffled by the choices of restaurants on offer in Eat street and to be brutally honest, to avoid matrimonial disharmony, plumped for the place we were standing next to - Cafe Ephasus on the basis that we both like Mediterrannean food. Our waitress promised us a bit of a wait for food... read more

Great choice for eating out after a few nights of takeaways. Everyone enjoyed their meal. A range of dishes to choose from and affordable for families.

I have nothing good to say. We were extremely disappointed in the menu, food and service. We order three different meals but when they came out that all looked the same just with a few different sides. Not my version of middle eastern I can do better at home.

Decided to eat here again after a couple of years since last visit. However there was no comparison as this was a terrible meal,in fact terrible everything. Poor service, lack of attentiveness and attention to detail, food that was so bad no one finished theirs...left and had dessert at another cafe.Wont be going back here anytime soon I'm afraid

We needed a rest from our 2/3 courses a day on our tour of NZ so opted for pizzas from the wood-fired oven. Plenty of Turkish toppings and good flavours, just don't expect too much from the basic tables and service. Good value though at NZ$ 78 for 2 with beer and wine.

Food good with some interesting menu items, service fine and the restaurant is well located in the main tourist drag. Only thing letting it down was the dusty railings next to our table - thick layers of dust. Suggest that when staff clean the tables (which they do well) they should clean the other decor too.

Good food, great portion sizes. I had the pasta of the day with chicken. My partner had Meze. Prices are also fair.
