Top Notch Fish & Chips

Oppie's has a well deserved reputation as one of the best fish & chips restaurants in the region. Three types of fish are available, two of which are fresh from the sea (the salmon had been fresh frozen). Once ordered, it takes about 15 minutes to get your meal, because each meal is cooked only... read more

Best fish and chips takeaway had for ages ,they could teach others a few things ,maybe they could offer a few different chip options as I think people would appreciate there favourite chip type. Personally I was happy but I would think others might find them a smidgen soggy

I heard of this famous chippie/Chinese and it was at the end of the road where I was staying. Great variety. Excellent John Dory fish and chips for half the price that I would have paid at home. Freshly cooked.Well worth a visit.

I had the fish and chips and the fried wontons. The portions were very large and the fish was fresh, crispy and seasoned well. There are a few tables to eat in and a couple on the sidewalk but mostly this place is for take out.

Didn't have to wait long. we walked about 20 mins to the government gardens to eat, food was still red hot when I... More

We ordered some of their more expensive fish and thought it was mostly overcooked and compared to some other fish and chip places we had in Rotorua it was a smaller serving, perhaps because it was a higher quality fish, too bad it was just overcooked, we couldn't tell the quality. A friend ordered their Chinese BBQ duck and said... More
