My favourite fish & chip shop in Rotorua

Always friendly service and great food. Fish always tastes fresh and food has lots of flavour. They are always really busy when I go in and for a good reason, will definitely continue going here for my fish & chips!

Asked locals what was the best Fish & Chips place in town and two separate people told us Oppie's and we weren't disappointed. Very very nice.

We (group of 4) were just staying one night in Rotorua and arrived late so just drove up the road heading into town and came across this awesome takeaway. The variety of choice is amazing and we tried the fish and chips - fabulously flavoursome Blue Cod. Hamburgers, chopsuey every thing was yum. The fish and chips were soooo good... More

Payed $20 for fried rice and chips that my work friend ordered over the phone. I tell you both were disgusting rice was given to a homeless man and chips thrown in the bin. Will never be back yuck

One of the few chippies that will crumb fish instead of batter. Excellent tasting chips. Huge battered sausages.

Enjoyed their famous fish and chips. Four adults for under $30 - can't beat that value. It was really busy the night we went but they got through the orders quickly. You can eat in or takeaway.

In a town full of touristy options, we were searching for a little authenticity and local charm and found it in this fabulous award-winning fish n chip shop on the road in from the south. No frills - nothing fancy here - just huge servings at great prices and a steady stream of locals in and out the door. There's... More

It was Good Friday, so my friend and I were looking for somewhere we could have fish and chips. Our hostel manager recommended Oppie's. The menu said, "Fish and Chips" I was like... ONE FISH?! Give me two! Boy, was I ambitious! The size of the fish is rather large and they give you a lot of chips! I wish... More

Perhaps some of the best fish and chips I've had. Lovely fluffy fry batter, fresh fish and we also had Oppie's fried rice which was SO good. Especially as leftovers the next morning!

We were recommended this by our motel receptionist. Was fantastic, my son devoured his fish and chips in record time. We returned on our second night for Chinese which was equally good, was Easter Monday and was absolutely mobbed, but was served within the 20 mins they promised. Highly recommend, they deserve the awards they gave won.
