This shop is worth the stop. Great fish and chips, a variety of options and quick service. Very busy little store.

Even though it's called a fish and chips shop, I had some Chinese food, and it was terrific! Excellent quality, hot, fresh, and very bountiful. In fact, I had the left overs for breakfast the next morning. I ordered and then went in to pick it up myself (down the street from my motel). It looks like it used to... More

We ate there on our first night in Rotora, it was just down the road from our hotel. We ordered 2 main meals and a fried rice. We were stunned to see the size of their takeaway containers, not your regular plastic takeaway. Container but a super sized one. The bay was so heavy and the containers were filled to... More

Found a menu in motel room and they did home delivery, even to a motel room. Wide variety of food from fish and chips to Chinese to western food. Food arrived quite quickly and was HOT. Serving size was almost enough for two

We came in and the person on the register stared at us until we made a choice. We ordered two items on the menu and we paid and then waited for our food. When they called us to get order we asked if everything was there they said "Have a good day" then we went back to our hotel and... More

In a word, wonderful. This place is obviously very popular with the locals and so there are long lineups, sometimes up to half an hour. However, we placed our order, went down the street to do some shopping at the supermarket, came back and picked up our order. Great variety on the menu, good taste, and good value.

there's a reason oppie's have won competitions. The burgers are out of this world. Fat scallops and beautiful minced paua fritters. I didn't try any of the chinese food but didn't want to bother with the huge range of deep friend seafood they have. I had to stop myself from eating more battered scallops. definitely the best fish and chips... More

What a great little fine, just walking distance from the Rydges. Oppies has an extensive menu, from Asian to Fish and Chips, great prices and fabulous food!

We have experienced truly great fish and chips in NZ, and this was truly not one of those experiences. They advertise as 'best chips in NZ' - but I think they were the worst. Chips, terrible. Fish, ok. Corn fritter, pretty good. I'm sure there are better places in Rotorua. Long wait, big disappointment.
