Although it has won many awards for Fish n Chips, I found it alright. However the pork crackling on rice is A MUST-TRY! Crispy skin that is just right to sink your teeth in and it does not become chewy. I want to go back for more!

We had Lemon Chicken. Beef in Black Bean, and fried rice - would easily have fed 5 or 6 people so the two of us ate it for 3 meals :-) Very good taste, generous portions. The premises is super clean and fresh, and the staff are courteous and friendly

For all of its reviews and awards I had big expectations, it is the most expensive fish and chips I have ever bought and it is pretty decent there are better options in Rotorua though - however I do like how they have a crumbed option for the fish - it wasnt a bad experience it just wasnt the best... Our hotel manager recommended this place and we certainly weren't disappointed! There's a reason the team at Oppie's have won so many awards for their fish and chips... They're simply delicious and won't last on the plate for more than 5 minutes. The chinese food is also really fresh, tasty and not at all oily. Worth stopping in for a... More

We only ate from there once, but the fish and chips were very nice. No problems at all. It seems to be very popular with locals and visitors alike.

I guess we should have gone with the fish and chips, because the burgers we had were not so good. Not sure about the meat. The burger was pretty tasteless. Others in our group who went separately said their service was very slow and the Chinese food they ordered was edible, but not good.

Saw them at the Home show where we were spoken to by'Oppie' he was passionate about his pork buns which were all gone. Looked forward to getting some from his shop. As the delivery hadn't arrived we opted for 2 Chinese takeaways. NOT NICE. My husband's duck was ok but the veges were not ok and whatever was put on... More

We were down visiting from Auckland and have eaten plenty of fish and chips and chinese takeaways and this would have to be one of the best. On our first visit we ordered the fish and chips and battered scallops and mussells and the day after chinese takeaways.... all food was fresh delicious and all staff very friendly.

Decided to try out this place while staying nearby as we noticed the signs for all the awards won. Went in early on a week night so there wasn't too much of a wait. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food we got. Delicious, perfectly cooked chips. Also tried a burger which was delicious, though I was slightly surprised... More
