How about a nice big juicy steak at Lonestar??? We have visited many a Lonestar over the years and have never been disappointed. I ordered the ribeye, sorry runout, that's ok I'll have the sirloin medium rare. So when you get delivered a well done, barely warm, grey boiled looking piece of meat for $36, it's hard to reach for... More

Enjoyed our evening here, good service and good food. Meals are big! My 15 year old ordered the ribs, entree size, and had 7 of them and they were big ribs! I ordered the fajita platter which was delicious but there was way too much food and when you're paying $36 - would have fed two people easily so there... More

We are always a fans of Lone Star, visited nearly every Lone Star in Auckland. Visiting Rotorua in the New Year and was so keen to try it out. We know Lone Star doesn't take bookings, but with 12 people, called up 2 hours before dinner time to secure a place in the priority seating list. Arrived at 6:30pm, it... More

Was slightly disappointed as thought the food would be better. Nothing wrong with it just not awesome. Great offer for kids though, free drink and dessert which we loved.

We waited to be seated for 20mins which was ok as we had a drink and was the given time. But got to the table and started to order but even though it wasn't even 7.30 the ribs, on special, had apparently all gone. we waited over an hour before our meal was delivered. In that time we had to... More

I am a meat eater which is why I like LS but the experience was even better as the Owners daugter Maggie served us and she was a delight to interact with but back to the meal. Lasso of hog is my favourite but the ribs come a close second. The hog was tender, the crackling salty an crisp and... More

"Lone Star" is first of all a very wisely and tastefully designed restaurant. It is always a pleasure to dine in a place that's suitable for the food offered. We had the ribs and the angus sirloin - both were spectacular! One of the best meats we've ever eaten. The service was quick, attentive and friendly. Would recommend this place... More

It was alright but it was quite loud, our waitress was very nice and friendly. The desert was nice enough but the JDs desert wasn't as nice as we thought it was going to be. I would highly recommend the crème brulee it was absolutely delicious.

Just had dinner at Lone Star with my boyfriend (we've moved to Rotorua a few months ago and finally got a spare evening between busy working shifts to spend it together) and we just wanted to say thank you to lovely Maggie that was helping us with our choices tonight and also thank another girl as well (don't know the... The service was great and the seating ample for a family even with littlies. The food was a good portion for the cost and a wide variety to choose from for even the picky eaters
