Our group was 12 people and we were catered for by this restaurant. We we walked in we were ushered to our table which took up one side of the restaurant, we were served by a lovely waitress who made sure we were welcome and our pre booked starters were ready as we sat down. After many margaritas and wines,... More

My friend and I visited rotorua for three nights and went to Sabroso more than once because the food and service were excellent! We ordered the tres amigos to start, chicken taquitos, and the tostadas. All was tasty! Highly recommend the well made margaritas to accompany.

I was SO impressed with the food here. It was truly outstanding. We started with the shockingly delicious chips and dipping sauces (worth the rather steep $15... when did chips stop being free in restaurants?) and then had the fantastic cerdo verde. The margaritas were ON POINT, and the hot sauces on the table were fabulous and had really funny... More

As great fans of Mexican food we were happy to get one of the few tables at Saboroso! The Margaritas are delicious, I had Tostadas and I really loved it. They have hot sauces as they use in Mexico and they serve delicious desert. Make sure you try the sopapillas! They tasted different to the ones I have tried in... More

Thank you so much for your lovely review. You're absolutely right that the Sopaipillas on our current menu were very different to the ones you had in Chile. They originate from Mexico, whereas the Chilean ones are pumpkin based. They make it to our menu on occasion too! More

One of the best meals I’ve had in ages and a welcome break from typical New Zealand food! We dropped in around 6pm and were told we had to make a booking for 8pm, which was no worries as we killed the time having a drink in a nearby pub. The food was really tasty and well prepared. They also... More

This was a gem for us as we find eating out on our travels to be a challenge at times. The restaurant is very small so I recommend making reservations. They turned away several people while we eating. The food was very good and the server was super. There were a variety of choices for both my wife, who is... More

Thank you Philip T for dining at Sabroso during your recent trip to Rotorua. We're so pleased that you enjoyed our vegetarian and vegan selections. South America is the home of so many great food items that work so well in this category and it's a pleasure to prepare them for our guests. More

A most enjoyable meal. Selection great and flavours abundant. Nice wines too. Service very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable . It became apparent very early that bookings were essential. Seemed a shame to see so many people turned away due to not having made reservations. Will definitely be back.

Thank you for visiting Sabroso. We're happy you enjoyed our flavours and service. With only 8 tables, our maximum occupancy is often quickly reached during peak dining hours, but flexible guests without bookings are frequently accommodated. We too, think it's a shame to turn guests away. More

I was brought here as a treat for my birthday and I was so happy the second we sat down as atmosphere was great and the waitresses were so lovely. Food was great both starter and mains. As well as the sexy mojito's we got after. A little bit on the pricier side but we didn't mind as it was... More

We're so glad you had a lovely birthday at Sabroso and are happy to hear that we will have you back as our guests in the future. As a full service restaurant, we work hard to offer very reasonably priced mains ranging from $17.50 to $25.50. More
