Fantastic restaurant experience

I've used the word 'experience' in my review because an evening at Sabroso is about more than the food, or drinks, its the whole shebang! We booked the day before and were warmly greeted by the hostess which is always a good start. In the early evening of a very miserable damp day, the place was... read more

This is the perfect meal that hits the spot! Family of 5, 2 appetizers, 5 meals, wine and beer... All absolutely fantastic! Not one bite of food left. Calamari tacos are divine. Great atmosphere, nice people, amazing food. Loved that it was off the busier main strip. Must go & enjoy.

Our tour guide recommended this restaurant and we were lucky that a reservation had been cancelled so we were able to get a table. I cannot remember her name but the waitress was so helpful and we were able to change the tapas around so that we got to try everything we wanted! The hot sauce is sooooooo good and... More

On vacation from the states, saw the review on this restaurant. Dinner amazing, fresh, interesting combos, not the usual fare. Drinks brilliantly prepared by the owner, who is warm, helpful and determined in providing a lovely evening. The homemade hot sauce addicting. A must for above the norm food.

Read the reviews did a walk up with no booking and was enthusiastically welcomed by the owner. Food fresh, full of flavour, and the margaritas were a great drop after a hard days mountain biking. The owner provided amazing service and this will be my 'go too' restaurant next time I am in Rotorua.

There is parking very near by which is good. We booked this restaurant from London . It is a good idea to book as it was busy when we went. We do not know much about South American cuisine but went on trip advisor recommendation. we had chilli con carne, it was very good, it was quite different from what... More

When in Rotarua please don't just make do with Eat Street, a long line of chain restaurants, walk a few yards off there to Sabroso. Authentic South American food with great Latino music all presented by John and Sarah. Ask to hear their story of how they ended up in Rotarua, fascinating! The chilli con carne and the slow roast... We're Rotorua locals and if we want an excellent night out this is where we go! Great service, great food, tasty cocktails, well priced and lovely atmosphere. Last night didn't disappoint - highly recommend the calamari tapas and chilli chocolate cup!

Thank you Jared879, for your lovely review. Our business exists today on the support that we received from our local customers in the early years, and we are delighted to receive such positive feedback eight and a half years on. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. More

Really recommend to eat here - if you don't get the seat go for take-away to enjoy the meal in near by park!! Enjoy being there to experience their lovely choices of food if not still enjoy their taking-away food.

Thank you for your recommendation! We do offer most of our dinner menu to takeaway and takeaways are generally available early in the evening until our dining room gets full and Chef needs to focus all his attention on our in-house guests. We hope to be of service to you again in the future. More
