On the lake side of the community Soundshell building. We were there on Sunday, when the markets were on, so not sure how often it's open other than Sundays. It's like a bistro where you take a tray and select the slices, sandwiches etc from the slide-glass cabinets - like a Country Women's kitchen. Then you order your drinks - my BOWL of latte was fantastic. We sat at tables just inside the glass looking out, across Lake Rotorua but the tables outside were popular too. Very reasonable, great food...all the locals seemed to be there!

Nice Lakeside View

Fairly ordinary at best - good for a coffee stop and to enjoy the lakeside view. In need of a revamp.

The location was the ONLY nice thing about this establishment. The service was average, the decor was tired, the menu dated and the prices; exorbitant.

My partner and i stopped here for a late breakfast and to enjoy a cold drink and the beautiful lakeside. The food very low quality, especially the bacon. The only thing they have going for them is the location and views over the lake.

Appears to be used primarily as a stop for tour busses on their way to the Geothermal sites and the Maori Village. Burgers, chips, fish and a few sandwiches at prices that are in line with what you can charge tourists when they have no alternatives. In other words, not a choice for someone with their own vehicle but acceptable... More

The most expensive cafe I had ever had the displeasure of going to! I don't mind big prices, I understand supply and demand, but extortion is the line that I draw. The prices are by far the most ridiculous in Rotorua $7.50 to $8.00 for 1 ice chocolate! I asked the waitress if this was some kind of menu typo,... More

Looking for a place near the lake to have a coffee and break. Lakeside was the option. Very good display with fresh food and lots of options. Pricey tho. Had a flat white with a apple slice. Great view across the lake and destress before my next meeting in town. Unfortunately i left rather embarrassed having used the Loo and... More

What a shame, as they are the only real cafe in Rotorua with such an awesome view of the lakefront. They are very slow, and are definatley geared up for the tourists with their price range. As a local we thought we would give it a try, but sadly we won't return, there are many other cafes etc that do... More

The view and the location is great. The food is expensive for very ordinary cafe style food. There are definitely better places to eat in town.

Stopped in for lunch. I ordered the seafood chowder and before doing so, checked on the portion size where I was told it would be big enough for a lunch, which it was, and tasty too. My husband ordered the beef lasagne and was given the choice of medium or large. He chose medium since he just wanted a lunchtime... More
