Whilst the food was good it was extremely overpriced for what you got. My main issue with this restaurant was the chauvinistic waiter that refused to acknowledge me rather to continually ask my partner "how is everything sir?". When I requested our bill my parter had left to go to the bathroom and the waiter waited until he returned to... More

I travel throughout NZ regularly and experience the best and worst dining experiences- this is the best! The food was stunning in all the right ways appearance, flavour, and texture. To support the food is a relaxed ambience and attentive but not intrusive service. The shared dining experience was so enjoyable as we waited with excitement for each course. A... More

Wow! Where to start ! On booking I was offers a courtesy shuttle which we declined . On arrival our booking wasn't there but we were seating promptly and offered water. You do pay for bottled water but that is to be expected. On the wine menu you can order paddles. A selection of 4 wines to match your food.... More

When we made our reservation we indicated that it was our 40th Wedding Anniversary so requested a table with a view of the Lake. On arrival we were delighted to find our table had been decorated with red blossoms, a red candle with hearts and a single long stemmed red rose. We choose this restaurant not only because they used... More

Soup du jour (spinach & potato) was very tasty. Steak with proscuitto and truffle mashed potatoes was also excellent. My travel partner took a vegetarian phyllo pastry with Brie, cashews & veggies and said this was also very tasty. Dessert was an amazing sort of chocolate cake with bailey's ice cream that was decadent! Service was impeccable. We were a... More

We ate at Mokoia restaurant with high hopes after many glowing recommendations from friends. The food was excellent, entrees were flavoursome and well presented. The lamb main was delicious and well sized, the duck was well cooked and the venison was fantastic. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. After ordering a bottle of wine it was left on... More

A great menu. Wonderful steak, yummy manuka smoked salmon. Fabulous dessert platter, especially the coconut creme brulee. Great breakfasts too. Loved the whole experience. Very friendly, professional staff too and the spa resort is outstanding. Wonderful spa treatments.

The menu is expensive for the portions but overall pretty good. The wait staff were helpful and pleasent and the food came out pretty quickly but the steak my partner ordered wasn't cooked right. The way that the meals are plated is stupid and ridiculous. They are very awkward for the wait staff to handle and end up having to... More
