Lips does not have the front street location of others, but they make up for this in the excellent food they produce, great meals.

After a hard day's graft my folks (who live in Paihia) were looking forward to a meal they didn't cook themselves. Sadly this one didn't stack up ... the greeting was warm and the hosting attentive - but it all went downhill from there. They could forgive having to send a dirty knife back, and a waitperson not 100% familiar... More

there were 6 of us for the meal. All our starters, main courses and sweets were great. We would recommend this as the best eatery in Paihia. Don't be put off by it's ordinary appearance from the road.

This cafe is furnished in a basic style so don't expect anything much in the way of ambience. Having said that, the lamb shank was well priced and very enjoyable. Service was friendly and had to be efficient as we were the only ones there!

We were recommended by friends who had visited some years previous. Excellent service good food and superb specials menu. Don't be put off by the motorway café style of furniture. This café allows byo wine.

We were returners, we had been here three years ago and we sought it out again - the food is still great, lovely service.

The service couldn't be questioned, and the eggs were cooked nicely but $5 for apple juice out of a bottle and iced chocolate that was more like chocolate powder, water and ice threw us off a bit. $8 for a bacon sandwich that was literally bacon in bread. Very average, and a little on the expensive side for what it's... More
