Fantastic Mexican meal!

Had lunch here and can totally recommend it. One of the best Mexican meals we've had - fresh and tasty. Quite a relaxed place and the chicken taco is to die for. Don't miss this little gem when in Paihia.

We went here twice in the last two days. The first time it took an hour for three of the El Cafe burritos to come out. They were so good we went back the next day and got more - wait time half an hour the next day. Delicious.

Wonderful breakfast, was recommended by Tarltons lodge, and what a fantastic little cafe. Ordered brunch there was fantastic very original and authentic. But what stood out was the Caramel milkshakes, man they are to die for (and Ive had heaps! but this stood out). We went back there just for milkshakes! Very nice little cafe, love it, will definitely go... More

Great coffee and hot chocolate- probably the best in Paihia. Didn't stay for breakfast but if we had more time, would have definitely had lunch or breakfast. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Take the time to at least get a takeout coffee and then meander down the road to the beach- bliss.

Such a good find! Only open until 3pm - come on guys you would be a hit in the PM! Nachos and quesadillas were so tasty and the chocolate milkshake was just what was needed on a hot day! Super busy there at all times, especially as its so close to the backpackers. We were there at 1.45pm and they... More

Great food, I had the pulled pork buritto, 4/5. Blueberry smoothie 5/5. The couple we were with ordered with us and had finished before we were served. The cafe was not busy or anything.

The food here is delicious and great value for money. The iced chai is incredible and the pulled pork burritos are the best burritos I've ever had.

We had the spanish eggs and the rancheros which both were nice. We're thinking to come back once more during our stay.

It definitely takes a long time to get your delicious food (30-45 minutes) but it's the best in paihia. My only complaint is with the clientele. I counted 8 backpackers taking up 4 of the 7 tables with 1 coffee to share among them, loving the free wifi and not offering to move their bags when pregnant or elderly women... More
