Good coffee and tasty burrito's served with a smile

Funky little cafe that knows how to make a decent coffee and has a range of tasty mexican food and tasty cakes. All very reasonably priced and served by smiley friendly staff. Good music selection (indie 90s onwards mainly), a selection of books and mags to read and All Press coffee - which nearly... read more

Located 30 seconds from the beach. Outstanding South American food, great press coffee & homemade cookies. I can really recommend the El Cafe burrito! The best burrito I've ever had! ...and I've been to South America! Big bonus with the fast WiFi! A 10/10 experience.

Wasn't super impressed. Definitely wasn't terrible, but I don't understand how its ranked #1 in Paihia. The people were friendly, coffee was decent, food was just kinda meh.

Arguably the best coffee in Paihia and probably Kerikeri. Generally the coffee quality is good but can be inconsistent depending on the barista at the time. The homebaked food is outstanding and was regularly demolished by our children regardless of whether is cookies, brownie or other delicacy. Outstanding food and service from Javier and the guys every time. Good quality fresh ingredients and everything tastes awesome. Tip - If you've had a heavy evening the night before on the Kings Road 'Strip' then I recommend getting the Chorizo nachos - they will sort you out
