Not wonderful but they fed us. Wouldn't particularly recommend it unless everywhere else is full. Very strange place

Located on the waterfront and within an easy walk of many accommodations. If needed there is plenty of free car parking nearby. Splash Bar has a very good selection of beers and better than average pub grub. Staff were very frindly and service was excellent. We sat outside and people watched.

A good place to watch the people go by and the boats in the bay. The beer is excellent. most of the seating is outdoor and the food is good enough. This is a bar not a restaurant and the food is not its main attraction. The Guinness is superb and I hardly ever drink the stuff anywhere else but... More

I stopped at this pub after a long day of fishing on the Bay for a Guinness, which was properly served and an excellent tipple. I checked out the menu, and after the next long day of touring we decided to pop on down to this place for a late dinner. We were very disappointed. The hamburger I ordered was... More

Having had long hot day in the bay felt like something more casual so called into this newly opened place ( new owners) .....absolute value for money and hugely relaxing watching the boats sail out and the sea come and go. Service excellent and they had the best schnitzel ever...eat inside or out, music channel humming and the wine flowing... More

We were looking for somewhere informal in Paihia after a long drive. Splash bar is in a good spot overlooking the water and we enjoyed a beer. The food was the let down - the fish & chips were lukewarm and poor quality. They also didn't provide salt & vinegar, think we may have been better off with a takeaway.

Makes a massive difference to a small place like this, when you are greeted with a smile, when all the staff are happy, seem to enjoy being there. Decent range of beer, some even on tap, food was average TBH, but overall a good experience.
