Fish was crispy but flavourless. The fish used was not one we were familiar with. We liked the kumara chips.

Not sure if these guys would survive if relying on repeat customers. very casual toward customers and some food seemed old and dry.

An excellent location for an early breakfast, water view, outdoor seating with pleasant staff and very good value for money.

We ordered fish and chips to eat on the beach and they were fish and delicious. The batter on the fish and hot dogs was crispy. The fish was fresh and a generous size. We also ordered scallops and mussels but the fish was way better. We only had to wait about 30mins for our takeaways. A good takeaway meal... More

Got some great fresh snapper which was reasonably priced and lightly battered. Chips were a decent helping. Disappointed that they don't do mussel or paua fritters and that the staff didn't know what they were. Great location and service.

It’s a hole in the wall place on the sea-front across from the jetty. A few plastic chairs and tables if you want to eat there, but – as its name says – it’s primarily a fish’n’chips takeaway, though the hanging board also lists seafood combos, various burgers, toasted sandwiches and brekky butties. The chilled counter cabinet displays fillets of... More

At $4 we could not go wrong. I was not expecting much but we ended up ordering a second one each. The guy behind the counter was really friendly and served is really quickly

Pretty average fish and chips - they are always busy; prime position, but they could improve on the quality and selection.

Used to be good. Not been in 4 months. Had a bad fish not cooked completely yesterday and put it down to a one off. Today I had scallops. Frozen in middle. Given more to replace and still not cooked through. Tried to complain and was asked ' what do you want me to do' by the assistant. Got no... More

Chose to have a bacon, egg and cheese bap at Vinnies which, being a Brit, I found an odd combination. To my surprise and delight it was fresh, light and tasty, with little hint of greasy spoon. Recommended.
