I stayed at the Villa, part of the Old Church complex, with friends over a recent weekend. I didn't know what to expect. I was so delighted. It was wonderful. The décor is so luxurious. Everywhere you turned there was something new to marvel at. It was really warm and comfortable during a very cold snap. Loved the cellar downstairs.... More

We had a wonderful selection of cheeses, olives, calamari, etc paired with Old Church wines that was simply delightful - the portions were generous but not too much as we savored our food and wine served by a charming hostess.

I am writing this some months after my Napier visit so cannot recall my exact meal but in thinking back to my Napier visit I remember my delight in finding this restaurant. The furnishings and surroundings reflected the former life as a church and was tastefully done The meal was first class and the service the same. Reflecting the excellence... More

This is a beautiful setting,. The inside restaurant is beautifully presented and the gardens amazing. The food was nice, the venison was gorgeous but the lamb was sinewy and hard to eat. The service was very good and we felt well looked after. Worth the drive

The location and environment is the star of this show, no doubt about it, but the food is very good too. You can pay similar prices in a lot less attractive venues in this area, and not receive food of this high a standard, so as a dinner destination, it stacks up well. While the Old Church can seat a... More

It was holey water because it came from a hole(well) I was told! The senior ladies I took to the Old Church Restaurant in Napier for a special High Tea were overcome by the grandeur of its sumptuous interior with its chandeliers, decorative glass and sparkling light everywhere, and top quality service. I am grateful for the opportunity the management... More

We ate here for dinner on Easter Sunday. The building is a stunning conversion and a special place to dine. Our starters and desserts were creatively presented and delicious. The main was also great (we had lamb and duck). It was a shame that vegetables were a side order, but otherwise faultless. The service was exemplary and we felt very... More

We booked a table for dinner on Wed 16th April via the restaurants on line booking service and received a confirmation email. We did this back in March, so over a month a go. We were staying in Napier and booked a cab to take us to the restaurant. On arrival it seemed very quiet and we couldn't see any... More
