I have eaten twice at the Indonesian in recent weeks and it is fantastic. Kees is a warm and welcoming host and the food is just a taste sensation! A great place to go with friends and share a ristoffel (not sure if I spelt that right) but it is a banquet of different foods and tastes!

Turned up at this restaurant with no reservation and was blown away by the reception we received. Nothing was a problem for the owner who made us feel real welcome then served us the best vegetarian meal we have had for a long time.Only problem was we didn,t have enough room in our bellies for sweets.We certainly recommend this place...

It's never a problem for us to cater for vegetarians (and/or vegans with a little notice) and our 'Vegetarian Rijsttafel' (banquet-style meal) provides you with a whole array of dishes. We are glad that you enjoyed it and also thank you for your comments regarding our service.

Let's face it - you come here for the rijsttafel. This is a huge meal so you are well recommended to skip lunch! The tables need to be big to accommodate 3 food warmers as well as a number of cold dishes not to mention plates and glasses.

Another great review and it encourages us to keep providing great food and matching service. 'Slavery' is not an option for us, but as you've noticed for yourselves, we're working hard and at the same time trying to enjoy lt to look after customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Restaurant Indonesia.
Having been to Bali many times, I can honestly say the food here was better and was truly authentic.
The staff were very friendly and attentive, but not in your face every few minutes.
The wine list was very good and very reasonably priced.
We had the Rijstaffel which was superb....

Indonesia Restaurant, as with Napier itself, is a NZ gem (so wish I had more time there). It's so good & in demand, that the 2-of-us had to return at 8.30pm to get in - So make sure you book. Rijstaffel is amazing, as is the lovely young smiling Thai guy who succinctly and so clearly explains every single one...
