This is the place in New Zealand where you'll succumb to romance and discover the tantalising flavours of Tuscany...Loving hand crafted pasta and salsa's.
Followed by classic Bistecta Fiorentina or maybe a fresh fish....Having operated for 19 years providing locals & tourists great service & quality food. We use local providers for meat , fish and vegetables and all pasta etc made on site.

Disappointed

The special of bruschetta starter was very good but the main course of veal with a Milanese type sauce was disappointing as it overwhelmed the meat flavour. The environment was fine and the staff friendly and helpful.

The first time I went to this restaurant was December 2014 and the restaurant made a great impression on me. I had the seafood risotto and it was amazing. The tiramisu I ordered then blew my mind so I brought my wife to the restaurant in Jan 2016 but it was fully booked, so we had to make-do with other... More

Managed to get an early evening booking on New Years Eve, for the same set menu to be eaten later. Food was superb, not cheap, but well worth it. Owner and his wife very friendly and helpful, made the evening pass by quickly. Genuine Italian cooking from resident Italian cooks. Will remember the evening for a long time.

The service, food and venue were all great. It was alittle more pricey than similiar restaurants we have been to elsewhere. We also felt that the margins added to the wine were considerably higher than elsewhere. BYO was not an option.

The food and service were great but we were very disappointed at the small size of the servings. The restaurant prices were expensive and did not match the servings size.

The food is excellent. Fresh, inventive and with wonderful flavours. Yes, it costs a little more than a cheap pasta joint would, but the food is in a whole other league, and worth that bit extra. Everything we ordered was perfect. The service was excellent. Our host was friendly, polite, helpful, and more than willing to go that extra mile... More

I'd like to rate this higher..but I just cant justify it. Pity really as this could be a nice Trattoria given the Italian heritage. Group of 4 for dinner..shown to our table..only 3 menus, 3 place settings and 2 water glasses. Took a while to get the guys attention to bring another menu; said he'd sort the place settings out... This is the second time we dine at the Trattoria and we love it. Great food and great host. We had a family dinner and our son loved the pasta (papardelle) and he finished the dish which is unusual for him.

Let me first say that we had a lovely meal. The pate, lasagne and seafood pasta were all excellent, fresh and cooked perfectly. However we thought the pricing for the size of portion was a little over the top. We're from Auckland, and this was over the top by Auckland standards, but it's in Napier. I still recommend the restaurant... More

Anzo the owner was an extremely fine host, we also met the 4 chefs, we arranged a special menu and they stayed open until after midnight. It was one of the best New Years eve dinners that I have ever attended. Kim, Anzo's wife, learn't that it was my wife's birthday on the 1st Jan, and even went to the... More
