A very attractive restaurant situated in a row of six pretty little houses which survived the 1931 earthquake. Excellent food and wine, very reasonable. Would definitely go back.

The food is very good but is basically what you'd expect for the price which isn't really a bad thing. I liked the desserts the most! Staff were ok, some were more friendly than others. Overall I would say it was worth the money and I would eat here again.

We were not disappointed with our choice of Mint for our last meal in NZ. Our main course of beef fillet with an en croute accompaniment was excellent. The wine list was wide-ranging and our choice of a Hawkes Bay merlot/cabernet smooth and well-rounded. But the desserts were spectacular. Try the vanilla brulee with baked alaska or the exquisite mandarin... More

We dine out frequently and tend to be a little critical but Mint is one of our favourite restaurants. The staff are very friendly nothing is too much trouble and the meals outstanding. The prices of food and wine are very reasonable for a restaurant of this standard. Highly recommend if you feel like a night out to be spoilt... More

We visited MINT on a busy stat holiday. We were welcomed immediately, the great service set the tone; the menu was varied sophisticated and sooo hard to choose. Wine matching with help from the staff simply enhanced a fantastic meal. Great view from upstairs. Bathroom facilities immaculate. We WILL be back.

Went here based on recommendations on Tripadviser...and to try 14 hour lamb. Neither disappointed! Food was outstanding...especially the lamb with truffle potatoes....mmmm. Great service, nice wines (incl by the glass). And then when we got the bill we were happily surprised at the reasonable price for what was an outstanding meal!

My wife and I ate at Mint as part of a group of 8 recently. The food was outstanding.Every course was unable to be faulted and I am very critical of food combinations and cooking preparation. Ruth's service and understanding of wine was top class. Mint deserves not only to be amongst the best in Hawkes Bay, but the best... More

This restaurant was recommended, myself as a Pomme (English) and my NZ partner listen a lot to others for what they enjoyed. Initial observations: Front of house staff were amazingly attentive upon request, we wanted a table near the front and were designated a table at the rear as per our prior booking. Zero problems resolving our requirements. The immediate... More

We both had the 14hour lamb. It was to die for! Superb. We did have quite a long wait but then one expects to have to wait for quality food. Lovely view over the sea just added to the enjoyment of the evening

Walked by and then walked in, no booking, but no problem. Couldn't fault the experience. Service, food and surroundings were wonderful. Ruth, one of the owners came and chatted with us and told us the story behind the restaurant. Highly recommended if you are ever in or around Napier.
