Pleasant setting for a quiet and restful meal.

We went for a midweek lunch. Quite pricey, though the blackboard specials for the day were more reasonably priced we thought. Coffee was very average, wouldn't buy again. No peppermint tea available, but they didn't seem to care. The meals were served in good time and we were very happy with... read more

We stopped in for lunch. There weren't many other people in the restaurant, but our coffee took 20 mins to arrive. I ordered avocado smash, when it arrived it appeared to be a sauce dish with shop bought grey/green guacamole, half a tomato and 2 pieces of toasted Turkish bread which were about 2 inches long. I ate the tomato... More

A very popular place to eat, which provides organic dishes and vegetarian options near the Waikato River in Hamilton. It pays to book. The food is delicious and the prices mid range. Lovely for breakfast, lunch or brunch in the sun!

After a morning shopping in Ham East, we decided to nip down to the Hydro as my partner knew the previous owner and said it used to be magnificent. It's anything but now, and is a shadow of its former self. * Service: Friendly and efficient. * Decor: soul-less, deteriorating and downright tired. * Cleanliness: Seemed fine; toilets stank and... Medium/large group. This cafe: 1. Forgot 3 drinks; 2. Didn't deliver 3 meals until reminded; 3. Took an hour to get all the meals; 4. Never checked we had all our drinks; 5. Never checked we were satisfied with our meals, nor actually HAD all our meals; 6. Didn't apologise when they realised meals were missing; 7. Said the drinks... More

Delicious hot chocolate and cheese scones in a nicely situated café on the north bank of the river, on the river walk.

Went there for weekday lunch and both ordered burgers. $15.50 each for cheap supermarket bun with 2 slices of tomato, 2 outside lettuce leaves, 1 tsp of beetroot relish and a pattie that i am sure was 40% salt was not great! AND not served with chips or any garnish at all. Will definately not be making a stop at this... More

Not been there for ages, very pleased we went for brunch today though. Creamy mushrooms on 5-grain toast with bacon & poached egg - yummy. The big breakfast option was a hit too, with plenty of bacon, chorizo, scrambled egg and toasted sour dough bread. Good coffee and perfect service topped it off. Looking forward to next time.

My daughter and I went here for lunch today. Although they did explain they were one staff member short that still does not excuse the more than one hour wait for my coffee - then only got it because I stood by the machine and stared pointedly; and the undercooked, raw, lamb wrap my daughter ordered. I thought it was... More

We went to lunch. Two gluten intolerant people. Asked for gluten free bagels with salmon and cream cheese. The bagel was so dry it was literally impossible to eat. Not joking here. The waitress said she would tell the chef but no one seemed to care. Also vastly overpriced!
