We had dinner here on Trip Advisor's recommendation. For NZ its fairly formal. The food was perfectly prepared, wine was good and ambience welcoming and relaxed. Definitely deserves its TA rating.

Really good food of a standard you would expect in a top restaurant in Auckland or Wellington, but actually more expensive. Good wine list including lots of local suppliers. Service was friendly and efficient.

What an amazing menu. Food was absolutely delicious and that little bit different. We sat in the courtyard and it was just gorgeous on a beautiful hot summer night. The waitress from the Netherlands (don't know her name) was friendly and attentive and looked after out table fabulously. A great experience and we would highly recommend.

Loved the food, great staff, but the restaurant was very noisy. It was hard for four of us to have a conversation that all could hear.

Fantastic food and equally fantastic service. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. Can actually have a conversation without having to shout above the restaurant noise. Beautifully presented food. You will not go wrong in going here for a meal.

USSCo was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Gisborne. It's a fantastic addition to the dining scene. The building has been tastefully fitted out, to show off the beautiful historic interior with a modern twist. There is a small bar to enjoy a cocktail at, as well as an outdoor courtyard. The service was friendly and professional.... More

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we felt completely attended to. The food is so delicious - we wouldn't pick out a single dish as besides the dishes we ordered, we observed other dishes being served and they looked just as delicious. And judging by all the clean plates, equally as enjoyed! The staff were terrific... More

A great restaurant. Located in a really nice historic building, the service is faultless and friendly and the food is delicious. There's a good drinks menu and on the night we went there was a guy playing guitar which provided really nice background music. Generous serving sizes too. Highly recommended!

I've had much better food for much less elsewhere in NZ. I have no problem shelling out for exceptional food but this was fairly forgettable. The wait staff weren't dismissive of my unusual dietary exclusions, which is good, but they did traipse back and forth to the kitchen to check what each dish consisted of. Knowing the dishes you serve... More

It was the whole package. A restaurant located in an historic portside building with edgy industrial décor and joy oh joy, there was no blaring music. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff were young, enthusiastic and knew the meaning of great service. The menu was imaginative and the standard of the food followed through. It was superb. Not much... More
