Good little spot

Food was good, renkon was good because it was done differently to any other place I've been to. And the teriyaki salmon was probably the best dish. And they let us BYO on a day they don't normally except it!

Nice little place in kingsland, food was good... renkon (lotus) was different to any way I've ever had it so that was good and the teriyaki salmon was probably the best dish out of the lot. Worth checking out at some point

It's been over a year since I've been back to Taiko (which is disappointing as the restaurant is a 5 minute drive from home). Arrived with the partner just after 7pm and the restaurant was lively with a couple of free tables. We ordered Karaage Chicken succulent deep fried marinated chicken thigh with a ginger sauce , Flamed-Seared Tuna Aburi... More

Out of the way down by the train station in Kingsland. It was quite quiet on a Thursday night, but the vibe is pretty cool. Possibly the best Takoyaki I've had and the Beef Tataki was great too. Sushi was very nice and the beer was cold. Lovely little place to come for a relaxing and romantic dinner. Very good... More

I enjoy going to Taiko simply because of its nice Japanese food. Friendly manager Ian has lived in Japan for quite a while and has been running Taiko for some times with a reputation of authentic Japanese food. If you are indecisive on what to have, Ian can surely give some good recommendations. My friends & I went for a... More

We are not very knowledgable when it comes to Japanese food, but love sushi and a few other well known things and wanted to experience more. We therefore really appreciated the fact that Ian was happy to explain the menu to us, which led us to allow him to bring us a selection of his choice, for a set price.... More

Ate at the bar, as by myself, as always (this is the third time i have eaten here) it was great. Staff left me alone, and yet sensed when I needed things, food was nice. Whilst not the cheapest bar snacks in town, they were not bad value considering the quality.
