We are not very knowledgable when it comes to Japanese food, but love sushi and a few other well known things and wanted to experience more. We therefore really appreciated the fact that Ian was happy to explain the menu to us, which led us to allow him to bring us a selection of his choice, for a set price.... More

Ate at the bar, as by myself, as always (this is the third time i have eaten here) it was great. Staff left me alone, and yet sensed when I needed things, food was nice. Whilst not the cheapest bar snacks in town, they were not bad value considering the quality.

The skinny: Parking- street Decor- minimalist Restroom- somewhat clean single Service- friendly Food- eh I was hopeful to have a nice dinner here since the first one in auckland was a no go. The first waiter/ host was nice and seated us at a 4 top. It was kind of dark inside and with hard chairs and concrete floors it's... More

I never been to Japan, but this is the kind of quality food that I would like to get when I'll go there. We went two of us 2 weeks ago and we had a fantastic night overall. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection and we enjoyed everything, but the biggest compliments go to the service side. We think... More

The food was pretty good and fresh. I was a bit disappointed by the plum wine as it wasn't as sweet as traditional plum wine I've had in the past. Good atmosphere and delicious green tea ice cream. I couldn't get over how lovely the tuna was!

Ian is a welcoming host and suggested an amazing set menu which was a delightful journey through the very best on the menu. It was a joyous occasion.

Rare to find nice japanese food at affordable prices but this place really excels. Sashimi was lovely and the service was efficient. Definately be back.

Travelling extensively in Asia from my home in Australia, it was more than a pleasant surprise to experience a wonderful set menu meal with business colleagues here, near the famous Eden Park Rugby arena in Kingsland, Auckland. The progression of Sashimi, cooked fish, pork, beef, shellfish and more was capped with a wonderful chilled whole Brocolli spear and crushed sesame... More

A famous Japanese restaurant in Auckland. Staffs are friendly, and it's rare to see that the waiter and waitress are not Korean or Japanese, quite rare to see that in this kind of restaurant. There are not much options in the menu, but the foods are tasty, and sashimi are fresh! The steak is a bit over cooked though.

I've been here several times, and the food is consistently good and the Sake menu is worth a mention in dispatches. There is a good range for vegetarians, although it's worth checking what's in certain dishes if you're not sure. It's not a cheap night out, and it does get busy., so book at weekends or if you have a... More
