Great atmosphere at bar and fab alfresco dining. Oysters and pizza bread to die for. Eye fillet superb. Never to forget the amazing service from Na Na. Thank you

Food was not good, and that's being polite. Had scallops that were off, told the waiter and ignored, had the veal and it was unbelievably salty, husband had pork belly that was as dry as a bone. Very disappointing.

Our last night in Auckland, saying goodbye to family so we wanted to have a lovely last meal together. We had a reservation for a "good table". In reality we were shown to a small table right at the back of the restaurant and the place was covered in flies. We politely asked for a better table and were offered... More

we ate in the area to the side as it was too hot to eat outdoors...also it felt more private and quiet too! the Starter of Mixed crudites was fabulous and the Paella is as good as any I have enjoyed in Spain! The wine selection is first rate too.. especially the Rose which went down well given the climate.... More

Everyone recommended we go here for drinks. It was fairly packed and the service was fairly slow. Ordered two cocktails which were just ordinary and quite expensive and on top of that we were charged a public holiday surcharge which I could understand if we ate but we only had some drinks. Didn'the think it was worth the hype although... More

This was again another place we came across as we really had not done much research into the food scene in Auckland. It was also one of the few that were open over the new year period. It was a great choice. Great vibe with very good crowd. The service was great and very friendly. The food was very good... More

Whilst living in NZ in 2004, we had a meal in another restaurant and were disappointed with the food, so rocked up to SPQR and requested the crème brulee as we had enjoyed it there before. They kindly did just that and made our evening. Now in Dec 2014, we are in NZ for Christmas and promised ourselves we would... More

We went to SPQR for the first time and were very pleased with the atmosphere, food and service, however our whole night was totally spoilt by inconsiderate smokers in the outdoor dining area who had no regard for others by constantly smoking over those around them and their meals! Come on SPQR and other restaurants in Auckland, take a positive... More

Food & service, could not fault. Indeed, we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the portions. We were a group of friends catching up after a few months of being out of touch so were looking forward to much chit chat. BUT the staff had the worst type of chit-chat background music - and SOOOOOO loud, that we could... More
