We ate here on a Saturday evening. The sashimi was very good size serving and value for money. It is basic Japanese decor with very friendly service. Loved the eggplant entree

Not your typical NZ food, but a friendly welcome and straightforward menu, gave way to a tasty miso soup. The five of us ordered a variety of set meals, and all agreed they were tasty and generous portions, whether it was chicken, sushi or combinations thereof. In terms of price, it was also very reasonable, so worth a visit, if... More

The sushi here, while not the best I've ever had, was still really good. My sister and I both ordered two rolls and a salad and were content. Service was really good as well. Price seemed pretty good for the size of the roll we got.

On reading the good reviews and the varied menu that seemed to cater well for vegetarians, we headed down to Sharaku with quite high expectations. Unfortunately we left a little underwhelmed. We share 2 starters; the tofu in tempura sauce and the vegetable tempura. The tofu was in a nice sauce but the tofu itself was too fine for the... More

We had dinner at Sharaku recently and were very impressed by the quality of the food and the service. Fresh fish, traditional Japanese, good ambience, excellent service...what more could you ask for!

I have been going to this restaurant since year 2002, and I have noticed their owner/manager has never changed. Food are always exceptional, service always polite. They used to have menu with photos years ago, which is easier for new customers, i have to admit. I love their nabayaki udon, futomaki roll, and fresh sashimi. Price is reasonable, but not... More

I made a reservation on Open Table for 11:45AM when they opened. I'm glad I did because they filled up really fast. The ambiance is really nice and perfect for lunch. Service was fast and really pleasant people. The salmon sashimi (guest had) she loved the flavour. I had the lunch special roll combo that came with Miso soup. Yummy... More

We had a 5 course meal, very reasonably priced at $39pp, and were very impressed by the standard of the food and the service. Although we love Japanese food we often stick to what we know so this was a great chance to try several new dishes. The fish was beautifully fresh, caught the same day, and each new dish... More

Food is ok but nothing special. Limited choice of sushi. The fish look ok but not very fresh. However, I think it is pricy. I believe that Auckland should have some other Japanese restaurant better than this.

This is the worst Japanese restaurant I've been. Food is overpriced and service is too slow. I had the sushi set and the fish is not fresh and the rice is too soft. The embrace is good but the food is a disappointment. I won't return back to this place again.
