The food was excellent. The beef was perfectly cooked. The salad was fresh and light. The steamed vegetables were gorgeous and still crisp. Lovely wines and nice beers. Great atmosphere. Friendly vibe.

Foodstore, with it's open kitchen, is visually appealing and has a nice location near the harbor. The bad news, the prices are high and the portions are small. Service on my recent visit was excruciatingly slow and they still managed to screw up one order. Overall, I was disappointed. If on the other hand, you have a big wallet and... More

Open Kitchen does not mean openly testing the patrons food (sauce) with a spoon then (using the same spoon) placing it back into the saucepan and dishing up this into the serving plate by the head chef!!! Bit SCARY especially risk of Hepatitis etc...

Having arrived in Auckland a few hours before a show, we stopped in at the Foodstore for brunch. On the surface of it the menu did not really appeal to me, but we went in none the less. The staff were very friendly and I was impressed with the open style kitchen and manner in which the chefs work. The... More

This according to me is a great place to eat some real lovely food. I must have visited this place 4 - 5 times in the last year and each time I left feeling happy and satisfied. The starters were great and so were the mains and the sides. The concept of the restaurant is also unique to have an... More

Chefs worked really hard and results were good, good as in meeting the profit margin and good as in nice flavours, food looked pretty, but the place, not for me, no ambiance (what's that) TV screens, a glam sports bar.... sorry Foodstore very expensive & 4 things on the menu request were just not available..

There were 4 of us for dinner - 2 visiting from overseas. Food was nice and the entrees were especially tasty. We shared a selection of entrees. Staff were very friendly and added to our enjoyable experience there.

Been here a few times and never been let down, my husband especially loves their creme brulees, their prices are a little expensive, but not overly, but hey, you get what you pay for, once you have tasted the food, the price doesnt become an issue, well worth it.

Three of us spent a leisurely Saturday lunch at the Foodstore. I always try and go if I am visiting Auckland as the food has always been really good. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the meals : fish of the day, steak and the Pork 'boil-up'. The entrees were yummy and so were the desserts. The service is efficient... More
