Excellent meal and service

I went to SidArt whilst on holidays with friends in Auckland. We elected to go for the 5 course meal and had a great dinner with quality dishes. The fish course I had was one of the most memorable fish dishes I've had. The service was also both friendly and impeccable. One of our friends had... read more

Sidart is situated in the rear of a rather underwhelming Plaza, so it is a welcome surprise when you enter a smallish, but comfortably stylish restaurant, with dark carpeted floor softening the sound of footsteps. Some of the tables are afforded a wonderful view of the skytower and city. The menu choice is simple, either 5 course or 9 course... More

A small room on the second floor of a shopping street did not possibly set you up for one of the best meals we have ever had! Very professional wait staff, incredibly inventive food with subtle hints of Indian spices gently woven into some of the food. The whole experience was 2 star Michelin.

We recently booked for the 5-course degustation menu, and found it a memorable meal. All the dishes were well conceived and beautifully presented. An usual extra was the use of hand thrown ceramic dishes different for each course. Although a 5-course meal for 2 usually would mean each of us would have the same dishes, here they mix it up... Never having been to a degustation before, all 4 of us were really looking forward to it. We were not disappointed either. We all enjoyed all 9 courses. Of course we preferred some courses over others. The wine matching was also great. Every course is truly a work of art. Not only for the eye either, but also taste. As... More

My partner and I went last Tuesday night to their 'test kitchen' - 8 courses for $80 and everything was amazing. The service was even better than last time and all the dishes were incredible as we had expected. I also asked to be seated with a view of the city so we could see the sky tower which they... More

As were were arriving in Auckland just a couple of days before my wife had a significant birthday and we are pretty much strangers to the city i relied on restaurant reviews on the internet to pick somewhere special to go out to celebrate and this place leapt out at me. The first thing that strikes you is the surrondings... More

We went for the 5 course degustation menu rather than the nine with the matching wines and everything was superb. The servings, both of wine and food, were a perfect size so that we did not end the evening feeling either under or over fed - although we did have to ask for a doggy bag for the macaroons offered... Presentation is fantastic and the textures were really well curated but the crayfish was over cooked to the point of being rubbery and at the price :(

We had a superb experience at Sidart during our travels in Auckland. Not only did the staff go above and beyond to squeeze us in and accommodate our sleeping baby, but the food lingers in memory even a month later. Tuesdays are a very fun night to visit Sidart as you get to taste dishes that are still in progress.... More
