Not a review as such. Just a heads up that this eaterie is no longer in business. We visited yesterday to find an empty gutted shell. Its possible that it is in fact having a massive makeover but the extent of the work -ripped out back to bare bricks indicates its much more. Sad to see them go

I was very disappointed with our High tea. Brownstone has just taken over and I did have a voucher for the old resturant. They kindly let us use it. But I wish they had cancelled the voucher. We did order another High tea for an extra person which we paid for. But the tea cups and pots had chips on... More

We had a girly day out and enjoyed high tea here with a glass of bubbles. The interior of the restaurant is cosy (they could do with some better artwork though). We had a table at the front in a recessed window which was nice. There is a wide selection of tea - some unusual ones too. The cake stand... More

From the greeting at the door through to the complimentary champagne to the excellent unobtrusive service, divine food and lastly more treats; free chocolates with our coffee we had the best night out ever. Thank you Brownstone staff for a truly memorable dining experience.

I can't keep up with the name changes of this restaurant! From Prohibition to Nostalgia to Brownstone! Dined here with friends last night. A very enjoyable evening. Excellent service from Ivan who made us feel very welcome. Delicious range of meals to choose from. Entrees, mains and desserts were all tasty and faultless Wonderful, relaxing atmosphere with music that was... More

Just for the record this restaurant has now been renamed as BROWNSTONE (effective July 2013). Have not revisited since this change.

Excellent starters -seafood chowder was amazing and so was the mango salad. The lamb shank main was ok. I have had heaps better. The 10 spice chicken melted in the mouth. Great 1920s setup. Even the loo is made of copper. Awesome setup.

Food, wine and service are great. High tea is great too with nice pastries and a good selection of teas. The mix of decoration, music and light make the atmosphere so special and the place so unic in Auckland.

We visited Nostalgia for high tea. What can i say everything was hand made.Yes you can taste the difference. WOW what an experience, from the menu of teas, to the home made bread. Even the wine was well chosen and sensibly priced well done.
