I attended Jun with five others on a Wednesday evening after a friend had recommended the restaurant to me. It is not the easiest restaurant to find, situated down an alley and down some stairs. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and got to sit in one at the 'booth' style tables. This required us to take off... More

There were a lot of Japanese patrons in the restaurant, so I can only imagine that the food is 'authentic Japanese'. Food was satisfactory and the portions were good. However, service was lacklustre (but not bad), but probably because there weren't enough waitresses. I am going to try it once more before deciding if I'd like to visit the place... More

I frequently dine at Jun for lunch. There's a small menu comprising of karaage, chicken katsu, chicken teriyaki and 2 daily specials. Expect to pay approximately $12. Generous serving. Fairly quick service.

The yakitori is a must. It's made over a little open coal stove just like in Japan . The meats are tender and beautifully seasoned. We also had a raw bonito with ginger and mirin from their daily specials which would not be out of place in some fine dining establishment for 4 times the price . Quite a few... More

I went there for dinner with my wife Rude service, as they asked us to move to smaller table, DURING our meal!!! Food has surely put lots of msg, which is unbearable, we end up keep drinking water the whole night We went there on the weekday, since we heard that this is one of the popular Japanese restaurant in... We went on a Monday night and thought we could get in easily, but it was booked, luckily it was only two of us and we could stay until 7.30. So make a reservation! It is BYO, there is a liquor store about 20metres away. I was really looking forward to TakoYaki (octapus balls) and the were great! We had... More

We went last night for a family outing. It's BYO no liquor service otherwise. Layout is simple with booths for typical Japanese dining (shoes off) or tables. For 5 ppl we ordered a range of yakitori ($5-10 for 2), white bait ($7), prawns ($7) soy sweet corn ($7) teriyaki beef ($45) and ginger pork ($25) The white bait and prawns... More

We went here last night for a family celebration and ordered a variety of dishes which we all shared. The Teriyaki Chicken Salad was YUM, as were most of the dishes...however, we felt that the Sashimi plate was a little on the small side for the dollars charged for it ...but that would have to be the only negative. This... More

We had Yakitori, Kara-age Chicken, Jikasei Korokke (Potatoes Croquette with Vege and Meat) and Stewed Pork Belly. We ordered plain rice to go with the dishes. All food were tasty and delicious except the pork belly which we find was a little overdosed with salt and soya sauce. The place is hidden in a quiet alley, leading down into a... More
