I heart Mela! By far the best Butter Chicken I have had! The staff were super accommodating & happy to meet all of our requests. I love the authentic Bollywood-style décor & while it could probably use some updating, I love Mela & their fantastic staff. For us, a trip to Perth is not even remotely considered unless there is... Friends booked this for us and we enjoyed our meal. The ambience is somewhat utilitarian but we had a booth, which helped. The service doesn't stand out in my mind so it wasn't remarkable - either way - but must have been adequate. The food was pretty good, my personal favourite dishes were the dosa paneer, paneer makhani (in a... More

We have been to Mela on a number of occasions for good authentic Indian cuisine - and not at ripoff prices! Service is great - it does however get busy, so obviously many very like-minded people eat here. I have a few favourites on the menu and in particular, the sweets are wonderful. Chaat available.

For years, Mela has been reliable for delicious, affordable Indian cuisine. Something has changed. It's not as busy as it used to be. The food is ok but doesn't seen as vibrant as it was. The service is a bit slow although friendly. When Liz was managing the restaurant, the food was magnificent, the service fast and friendly and there... More

BE CAREFUL with your credit card. The waiter will befriend you to see whether he can target you. The waiter tried to charge us ten times over by adding another 0 "well accidentally of course", however when we asked for the receipt he then says oh sorry what a mistake........stupid scumbag, the food was OK though. We are locals who... More

I have recently been to this restaurant and I loved the food. They have so many choices for sweets and it's quite affordable. though it's little busy on weekend but that is a sign of a good restaurant.

A good place for Dosa, Idli , Vada etc. Parking can be a challenge if driving. Gets busy on the weekends, but is patronised by South Asians and others - so has to be good.

It was noisy, seating a bit like a food hall and service was not particularly friendly or attentive. I suppose the word 'functional' describes the evening. The lamb chops and lamb kebab starters were very good. Papadums were a bit soft - think they had been left around after cooking. Chicken Korma was very tasty and looked good. Chicken Tikka... More

Been hoping to go there for a while. Lots of fish and vegetarian dishes out of a very large menu. Service was great, lively atmosphere and the food was fresh and tasty. Four adults $134 and we really ate well. Will go again!
