We were staying at the Punthill Apartments with friends recently and decided to dine in. What a wonderful decision that was! The food was first class - entrees of Chicken Sang Choi Bao ($7.50) and dumplings ($5.60), for mains we had a variety ranging in price from $23.50 for the deep fried beef to $36.00 for the lightly deep fried... We had dinner here on a recent trip to Melbourne. When we arrived our waiter asked if we were going to a show. We confirmed we were and he assured us our meals would be ready in plenty of time to make the show. And they were. Great dumplings too. All up a great experience.

We ate at the Tea House and once again had a brilliant meal and received impeccable tentative service. Our favourite entree is the fluffy omelette with lobster this is Devine.

We recently stayed at Punthill apartments in Cohen Pl, where the Chinese museum is.The Tea House restaurant on the ground floor of the apartments. It was a freezing night, so we decided to try the restaurant and it was an excellent choice. We had different entrees...chicken dumplings, dim sum, and San Choi Ban, all well made and cooked. Two had... More

This would have to be the best Chinese I have had. A group of 7 of us attended after seeing a show. We could not fault the food or the service. Even catered to allergies and decision changes on meals ordered. Definitely a return visit for us.

Firstly I must address some clearly ridiculous Trip Advisor reviews! They almost turned me off trying this place, so BOO!!! to all you Nit Picking ordinary people. It's bad form to go on about money spent, Thousands?? Clearly they had reason not to, either remember, or value your patronage. David Zhou is the epitome of class & non intrusive service.... More

I would first like to say the food is good. I have spent thousands at this place through business lunches. When I went to go here for lunch with my wife and very well behaved child - I was asked what I wanted by the Manager upon entry, I replied with I wish to have lunch. He looked me up... More

We had a small family dinner (6) and were delighted with the service and the food. A good wine list was also available. Each dish was a delight, with the Peking duck not disappointing. While the decor was a little tired, the meal overshadowed this. Happy to return

Tea House looked very clean and upmarket, and we hoped for a meal to match the ambiance. Perhaps we should have noticed that there were not many other customers. The food was disappointing. My eggplant dish was cloying and unpleasant an the other meals ordered at our table were poorly prepared and cooked. They neither looked nor tasted appetising. I... More

Dined here Monday Australia Day Holiday. Had a look up and down Chinatown. Came across this restaurant in a laneway. So glad we did. The food and service was excellent. We will return.
