How lucky we were to find Bokchoy Tang. Just looking at the restaurants in FederationSquare when we came to a table with a menu and information about Bokchoy Tang and that it was on Level 3. So we went in the glass doors and the lift is clearly marked where the restaurant is. Very nice place with tables set beautifully... More

Was in the cbd on Saturday night and didn't make a booking anywhere and we could get a table here no problem. There was a man playing piano and created a great friendly relaxed atmosphere. Only critisicm would be that on a Saturday night they ran out of Wagyu beef and the calimari was a bit oily. Drinks are well... More

We arrived at one of our favorite places to find that the majority of the restaurant was filled by a conference dinner and the atmosphere was of busy activity! We, however, were taken to an attractive screened off area where there was only one other couple. We had a dedicated and delightful waiter to look after us and the food,... More

Visited on a Saturday night with no booking but easily got a table for 4 people. The service was very good and prompt. The food was a very good standard, especially the scallop dumplings and the peppered beef fillet. Would highly recommend going to Bokchoy Tang. Also can use the Entertainment book at 25% off a good deal.

Location very good. Table lay out perfect. Quite as well. Great view of chefs cooking as well. Our time was limited. Our waitress understood so the service was very fast. Each coarse was very enjoyable. Service perfect throughout the meal. We chose the banquet with an extra two main dishes. We would recommend this restaurant to all our friends.

Would recommend to anyone the function area to have a large group, although it wasn't completely closed off, hence a little noise. We had 20 guests. I chose a banquet for our guests drawing from the suggested banquet menu and add ons. Staff were extremely helpful with their suggestions and maintained the surprise factor despite my husband "booking his own... More

We have returned to Bok Choy Tang so many times. We first starting going because of the Entertainment Book which gave us a 25% discount. However, we return because this Chinese - Australian fusion meals are exemplary. The dumplings, the Peking Duck Pancakes, the fried rice, the bacl pepper beef were brilliant - however avoid the Prawn dishes where they... More

It's not often I have to write a bad review about food in Melbourne, because on the whole it's pretty good wherever you go. And being situtated in the very centre, on Federation Square itself, I expected good things. The restaurant is situated on the top floor of a building, accessed by a lift. The waitress was pleasant, and there... More

We visited this restaurant a couple of years ago and thought it was excellent, on a revisit it seems to have slipped a little. The visit was on a Monday night and there was only a smattering of customers. The wait-staff were very pleasant and attentive. The salt and pepper squid as an entree was a little chewy, but it... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
