We were very lucky to walk in for a late lunch just as four people were leaving. We got to sit at the bar. The food was simple, piping hot and quick. I really loved the quick food, delicious pasta and thick bread. It was a cold Melbourne afternoon but the food warmed us right up. The coffee was good... More

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. The food is always excellent and comes straight out of the oven. The service is genuinely friendly despite the fact they can be very busy. Simple, affordable and very Italian.

A no frills Italian eatery in the heart of the city. Cheaper than most Italian options and the portions are a decent size. Mains start around $12 they do a fantastic lasagne. It can get very busy and there isn't much space to sit down. You will likely be squished beside your fellow diners on the rows of high red... More

The place was packed on a weekday for lunch, we sat at the bar and ordered two pastas and two mineral water. I thought for the lack of service it was a bit expensive, no table cloths etc. Pasta was good.

Pellegrinis always has been and still is a Melbourne icon and institution. Authentic Italian trattoria feel, sit on the service side or at the rear near kitchen for the best experience

My wife and I visited today to end a 12mth coffee fast I had taken. Two long blacks and two strudels! The coffee was great, the coffee fantastic and the service friendly and welcoming. I couldn't ask for better.

We only stumbled on Pellegrinis while staying close by and looking for a late night snack. We had great coffee and their strudel simply wonderful. The atmosphere was great looks like nothing has changed for the last forty years and hopefully stays that way. The staff were friendly and helpful. A Melbourne institution will be back when we return. Great... More

I went here (for the second time) with my mum and my sister. They didn't know what to order so one of the workers suggested we have one cannelloni and a piece of lasagna. They didn't last long on the plate as we engulfed them in absolute bliss. The cannelloni was not your typical dry ricotta and baby spinach filling,... More

Pelligrinis is an experience - from the decor to the owner who fanned us because of the heat. He's delightful and a bit naughty - but with class. Food was fine, the granita (watermelon and lime) was to die for and the pastries divine. Long, narrow counters, menu on the wall above you, no ceremony about anything. An hour of... More

Visited Pellegrini's for the first time after hearing so much about this place. Big DISAPPOINTMENT... The waiter who served us was the rudest I have ever encountered. He was rude and arrogant to everyone seated in his section and when I informed the man who we gave our bill to, the rude waiter proceeded to argue with me - we... More
