Beautiful food, great service

But check your bill. Ours had someone's else's $25 martini from the upstairs bar added. But when I queried, they quickly removed it. We sampled the $90 set menu including matching wines. It all worked very well and we were adequately fed, not hungry. The dessert wine was a big dodgy - but... read more

By far the best Japanese in Melbourne. The service and quality of food is top shelf. The sashimi evaporated in my mouth and the sake list is sensational.

Our first visit and with much expectation due to its reputation was extremely underwhelming. This is due to the staff whose greetings were as warm as the ice age, dull and with so much insincerity and laziness. I made this booking via bookarestaurant where I specified I will order "A Taste Of Nobu" which when I ordered no one seems... More

I had never been to a Nobu before and was taken here by some friends who had been to other Nobu's overseas. The service was impeccable, with wait staff picking up on the fact we liked to joke around and altering their service to suit our group, the food was amazing to look at and absolutely delicious, there was really... The menu was interesting yet had obvious tradional roots. The wines recommended were perfect and the service was flawless. This was our second visit and was as happy as the first

This is our second time to Nobu Melbourne and it didn't disappoint. I would suggest ordering some of their chef's creations to amplify the experience - the blackened cod was amazing and not to be missed. The sushi rolls and sashimi are of course exceptional quality, but come with a price. Experience is highlighted with the specialty dishes.

My husband recently booked a special event dinner at Nobu, as part of the Fin Review top restaurant launch. We arrived with high expectations, never having visited Nobu before. Our disappointment began almost at once, as we entered a giant room with no greeting, aiming to fin the reception area. When there, we were quickly shown downstairs to a basement-like... More

Having booked a celebratory family dinner at Nobu our mood and expectations were high. However the dark dungeon feel downstairs (we did book well in advance but still were placed in the downstairs windowless basement) was creepy and very uncomfortable. The wait staff were prompt but very aloof. While the food was good, servings were very small and the degustation... More

Dissapointing, music was loud and food average and overpriced. Food is modern japanese, but not worth the money you pay. I found the staff on this particular day rude and unattentive. I would not go again or reccomend it.

After an apertif in the bar upstairs we headed down to our table. The downstairs is a great space with excellent acoustics which allow you to talk in a normal voice at your table and be easily heard, but you don't hear everything said at the next table, so kudos to the designers. We decided to order the 10 course... More
