On a cold wet winters night when you have travelled all day on business and you want something hot and simple to take back to your hotel room and just relax this resturant provided a great simple hot soup to take away

Being to this place ance and never being back since. The food was OK but nothing special. Can't say the best Malaysian dishes ever. For the price you pay for, it is simply OK and nothing more. Don't think i will be recommending this place to friends or relatives. I used to frequent the sambal Kampung in Chinatown and the... More

We visit here regularly for lunch as it is always quick service and the food tastes great. If you like Malaysian, Tom Yum or Curry Laksa this is the place to go.Very filling portions. Simply select your fresh ingredients from the soup bar and they will cook it up for you and bring it to your table. Quick as!!

This place has moved but the food is still great value and delicious. The $13 whole small barramundi deal is quite good and the curry combination laksa is delicious. For $23.50 we fed 2 people and enjoyed it. Large menu so heaps to choose from and friendly staff. Casual tasty weeknight dinner after work.

I was looking forward to a tasty bite after a long plane journey. But the premises are deserted (22/7/13) and a notice in the window speaks of lease default and other things suggesting that it's not just moved. Sic transit...

I really enjoyed their Malaysian chicken curry for dinner. The moment I walked in I felt I am at the right place. The menu has food items at a reasonable price. Staff is friendly. Food was great. Best value for the money.

Very good restaurant in Chinatown. Reasonable prices and good food. In 3 days in Melbourne I went there 3 times: first, Mongolian chicken and vegetables, second, Sotong Mee, noodles soup with chicken, calamari and prawns, third, chicken curry Malaysian way with gravy sauce, excellent noodles and some vegetables. The third meal was probably the best. None of them for more... More

We were looking for a place for dinner in Chinatown, and chanced upon Sambal Kampung. The menu in the window looked interesting, and it was a good choice to eat here. We were not disappointed with the quality of the food or the service, which was quick and friendly. The price was very reasonable, and proved to be very good... More

Cheap but only in the price. While the downstairs is a tad unprepossessing, the food is excellent and cheap. We had a couple of drinks, entrees and mains - all for $55! Food was fresh, non greasy and authentic.

visted here tonight after doing a quick search on TA for chinese restaurants in Melbourne - have to say, this was fantastic. We loved it and would highly recommend it. I had Seafood Hokkein Noodles, other half had Tom Yung Seafood Rice - both loved our meals. Great value and really tasty food. Will definitely go back
