Description: George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment...
George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.

Eating in Press Club wasn’t only good food, great service, nice atmosphere, it was overall experience. I eat the six course tasting menu, and every course was beautiful, interesting and tasty and also something I haven’t eat elsewhere. Beside those six course, there was two or free extra, I lost my... read more

This was a highly anticipated meal and it did not disappoint. Eveything was infused with intense flavour and showed great techniques. The service was outstanding. Our dinner was the 4 course option, I had the green salad, duck, moussaka and chocolate and mandarin dessert. My husband had the winter vegetable salad, 63 degree egg and mushroom dish, suckling pig and... More

Flew from Canberra for the weekend so The Press Club was to be a highlight. Sadly although Staff were great the experience was excruciatingly drawn out with over complicated dishes more about ego than honesty. The clothesline of dried vegetables was clumsy and silly. I understand the concept of Fine dining but, food need not be this difficult to enjoy.

Absolutely superb! It does live up to the expectations and reputation. Because of its reputation it can be pricey, but worth every penny if you like your food.

Very good service, dish presentation was really good but we ordered a confit duck which was too dry, meals are expensive.

Classy decor, comfortable intimate atmosphere. Very pleasant and attentive staff. We had watched MasterChef avidly so had very high expectations. We were NOT disappointed. The food was amazing...beautiful plating and presentation. Delicious flavours with unusual combinations. The most delicious fish I have EVER tasted. We will definately be going back.

We went on Saturday night as a group of 4 booking 2 months ahead of time . The appetisers hung from a cute clothes line and the dishes had lots of piped sauces but in reality it was pretty but not sustaining food . Starting at $100pp plus wine it turned out to be $200 pp in the end and... More

We always used to say if you finished a restaurant meal and felt like you could happily eat a hamburger, there had been a problem with the restaurant. Unfortunately it was the case at Mr Master-chef George's place The Press Club. We arrived early and found ourselves invited to stand in a tiny curtained off area and have a glass... More

This is one of those "it's worth the cost just for the experience" kind of places. The food was great, the atmosphere was very cool, and the service was even better. You wouldn't dine here every week, or even every month, but the occasional splurge for a special occasion or fancy treat is what makes this place good fun.
