Description: George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.

Very tasty! Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Press Club. Especially loved the Hills Hoist. Friendly wait staff. Liked the decor.

I took two clients to lunch and wanted to impress them (no pun intended) - it worked. We relied on the advice of the excellent staff (Valeria and a young man) and took a 5 course with wines recommended for each course. There were some excellent choices there, including a lovely dessert wine from Italy. The food presented very well... More

This is now my second visit to the Press Club. My first visit before the renovations was an enjoyable experience, the food was first class and was let down by the wine matching. The atmosphere in the place was comfortable and intimate. Sadly the place has been renovated and remind me of a 1950's US diner with semi-circular booths. It... More

The service was incredible, the food was amazing and just a real experience. We had the 6 course degustation and wine and it was $630 for the three of us - not too bad given the calibre of the experience and food. I would definitely go back for a special occasion, will not disappoint (unless you're weird).

Like other visitors we came because of George on Masterchef. Although being from England we introduced our Melbourne hosts to the Press Club and it really did not disappoint! We had a late lunch booking which was ideal because the restaurant wasn't too busy and we had superb service from Michael and Andreas. Just be sure when ordering a coffee... More

We had dinner there. We chose the 8 courses offer. With each course, comes first the excitement of expectation and the 'wow' sensation. Great and special tastes. The service staff are very polite and professional. We were lucky George who we only see on TV greeted each table. We were all star struck and couldn't say anything coherent. Should have... More

We were there for lunch and the tastes were indeed an experience. Each course was a taste sensation. The Mornington Peninsula Riesling was an ideal accompaniment - albeit a tad overpriced. In summary the menu is great value but the wine list a fiscal minefield.

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Melbourne to celebrate our significant anniversary, and wanted to dine at a special restaurant. Well, The Press Club certainly was special. It seems the restaurant has downsized, and they now only have a degustation menu. We chose the 8 courses over the 5, and I'm glad we did, as I wouldn't... More

Fantastic food, great service and pleasant staff. We chose two course menu, entree and main meal. All meals were delightful and stimulated all senses. Visually, on the aroma and most importantly taste. The waiter listened to our wine preferences and recommended perfect wine. I would love to come back for the food experience, but I am not sure about the... More

Fantastic and memorable dining experience. The recently renovated Press Club offers outstanding service, great modern decor, and a menu and wine list sure to delight. We enjoyed lunch to celebrate a special occasion, and The Press Club team delivered. The wine list is extensive, and the menu offers a modern and creative twist on some traditional Greek dishes that will... More
