Description: George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form The Press Club Group, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner’s wanting more. The Press Club seats 90 guests and also offers a large, completely private dining room for up to 30 guests. This space can be split into two smaller rooms for groups of up to 18 and 10 guests. The open kitchen brings an element of drama to the contemporary dining room, and professional service staff, complete the winning combination.

I've been to The Press Clubs numerous times over the last 6 years or so and this is the first time I've seen it in its new guise. Exclusive and intimate with very clever design, the space is warm and inviting and sumptuous without being forced. A relaxed vibe and the staff were excellent as well as proud to work... More

3 friends and I visited The Press Club back in January when we were in Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis. We had the 8 course degustation and were really impressed by the food, the presentation and the staff. One of our group celebrated her birthday last week so we decided to try it again. I mentioned this to a... More

Came here for a special occasion dinner and found it to be excellent. The staff were friendly, unpretentious and extremely knowledgable. The 5 course degustation menu had all the elements that it should - great food, interesting flavour combinations AND it was an experience - one of surprise and delight. Attention to detail was fantastic, every element of each dish... More

We had the 5 course degustation menu and it was amazing, both in terms of the quality / combination of the food and the mild sense of theatre that accompanies it. They do matching wines, but we selected our own. We adored the palate cleansers and were given an extra helping, but the whole experience memorable.

We dined here as part of a weekend to celebrate my birthday. What an overpriced and underwhelming experience. We had the 5-course tasting menu. The food was fussy and pretentious with very little taste (with the exception of our slow-cooked beef main). The service - pushy and intrusive with wait staff constantly probing for positive feedback and persistently (and very... More

One of the most incredible dining experiences I've had! We had a 5-course degustation and the food was so thoughtfully prepared with some unexpected flavours, in a good way! The matched wines were perfect. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Can't wait to go back!

Visited this fascinating venture on the side of the famous press club. The head or sous chef creates a 5-6 course degustation in front of you with only 8 diners all sat together at a bench on Friday evenings. It was a great experience bringing consumer closer to creator. Alex the sous knocked out a wonderful menu with some fab... More

My husband and I were given a gift voucher for the Press Cub before it's recent re-opening! The $100 didn't even pay for drinks but if you are prepared you will not be disappointed! Stunning food presented creatively and attentive staff! Meeting and chatting with Ralph Fiennes was the icing on the cake of an experience I will never forget!
