Description: George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment...
George Calombaris' flagship Melbourne restaurant for MAdE Establishment has cemented itself on the global dining scene with its unique Modern Greek cuisine. In October 2006, the four directors joined together to form MAdE Establishment, and opened their first venue, The Press Club Restaurant and Bar. This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.

The service made our Press Club dinner stands out. The food was interesting, well cooked and beautifully presented (we had four course chef's choice), with the whiting with a deconstructed tzatziki the highlight for me. The service was faultless - timing was spot on, descriptions of dishes clear... read more

A friend and I (both from interstate) dropped by for a drink as the Press Club had been recommended by an acquaintance. Loved the terracotta pot ceiling and seating at the bar was entertaining as the kitchen was in full swing right in front of us. I ordered a dry martini, my friend a margarita. Martini was good, prepared as... More

A little bit nervous taking our Kiwi visitors to Press Club - especially as we'd just been to The Fat Duck (!!!) 2 nights previous. But - wow - thank you George and your team. It was fabulous, prices OK for your choices of 4, 5 or more courses - everyone at the table chose their own number and that... More

We went here with some friends a few months back (2 couples). We had eaten at The Press Club before in its previous iteration and had really enjoyed that so decided to come back. We all had the 5 course degustation with the matching wines. Not only was the food out of this world taste wise (and the presentation was... More

Whilst in Melbourne went to the Press Club for dinner on a Tues night. Great service , wine matches a must , food was fresh vibrant tasty and just yum. To finish your dessert in a different room was very creative and fun. Unfortunately George not there to goggle at ......perhaps next time. Well worth the money and definitely worth... More

Celebrated my wife's birthday on a Tuesday night with our two adult children. Tuesdays are their "set" 5 course degustation. We booked the early sitting at 6:30 to be out by 8:30 - but order enough wine and they don't kick you out - left at around 9:30. Well cooked, well presented and exceptionally tasty food. I love this way... More

Ate at the Press Club a few years ago in its old incarnation when it was bigger and possibly a bit buzzier but no points off for that, the food is still amazing. We were talking about it for days after. We chose a 7 course degustation and had the matching wines which is not something we usually go for.... More

To avoid having to select dished we visited on a Tuesday and had the degustation menu. This normally 5 courses but George had added a sixth for the evening. Having the serviettes handed to you with a pair of tongs you know the evening will be special. The dishes were are served on a share basis. They were served with a... More

My wife and I were in Melbourne and went to the press club for no other reason than we were fans of masterchef and it was George's restaurant! We liked the experience but we were not blown away by it. We were offered a menu or to have a surprise dining experience and we opted for the surprise. We enjoyed... More
