As frequent visitors from Adelaide to Melbourne we had often been tempted to try Bistrot d'Orsay but never ventured in until the end of the June Long Weekend this year to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday. The bistrot had the authentic feel of a dining establishment one could find in the 8e Arrondissement, le Marais or the Ile Saint Louis... More

The food is excellent with a menu providing challenging choices. Not only is the atmosphere great, the service level is high. Duck and creme brûlée highly recommended. Simply delicious!

A lovely bistro, ideally positioned at the Paris End of Collins Street, opposite the Regent, which was a lurid green because of ‘Wicked’. The decor and feel were perfect. The food was excellent. We shared a charcuterie board, where each pâté, terrine and cured meat was very good. Mains are all memorable and very French – beef cheek bourguignon and... More

Called in here, mid afternoon, to have a coffee and was amazed that such an elegant place existed in Collins Street. The staff were excellent and although it was past 3pm, we had coffee and cake and soaked up the atmosphere of this small but very well patronised restaurant. There were still diners completing lunch. It has great seating and... More

I had lunch at Bistrot d'Orsay and felt that I had stepped into Paris. Saved the airfare! The food is excellent with a menu providing challenging choices. Not only is the atmosphere great, the service level is high. One of our table broke a glass and it was handled with total professionalism and no fuss, so that my colleague wasn't... More

My partner and I had lunch at the Bistrot d'Orsay on the Tuesday following the June long weekend in 2014 and it goes down as one of the best meals that I have ever had. We are regular travellers to Melbourne, and had often promised ourselves that we should have a meal there, so during this trip, we made it... More

I had walked by Bistrot D'Orsay almost every week but had never gone in. Then one night I needed to get dinner before a performance at the Town Hall and I thought - I'll give it a go. It was a good decision. Fantastic service, a great atmosphere and deliciousness aplenty. I have been a couple of times now and... More

staying across the road at Westin Melb. Dinner time with colleagues. We all ordered mains. Food came quickly. Slow braised beef cheeks were hearty and satisfying. Price in low $30s. Colleagues had gnocchi and sea food stew. Enjoyed the Parisian atmosphere.

We always make a booking at this restaurant when we visit Melbourne and it always delivers. Great food, great wine list, great atmosphere.
