Gee, how hard is it to book at this place? I've rung (wrong hours, sir!), I've emailed (sorry, we don't take bookings via email, sir), I've rung again (we'll call, maybe, sir), I've walked to the restaurant in person to book (sorry, we don't make bookings at the restaurant, you need to ring this number during office hours, well, sort-of... From the moment I booked to the moment we left, Coda was exceptional in every way. The service was spot on (a few of us had special needs), wine suggestions were perfect and food was sublime. My daughter was thrilled to have celebratrd her birthday there. Competitively priced considering the high standards. We will return.

What a terrible display I witnessed of what cannot remotely be called customer service. Coda staff aggressively asking a table of ladies to "just pay and leave" after what was easily overheard to be a simple bill query. I had watched the group laughing and enjoying each other's company throughout the night, not unruly at all. The male staff member... More

I originally went to Coda when it first opened and was semi impressed. We had friends who wanted to go so off to the city we went. Tried to get in circa 6pm but packed out and lucked a table at 7.30pm. Trout, duck curry, tempura, steak, lamb cutlet, pork spring rolls, and many more kept coming with a fig soufflé... More

Two visits 11 days apart confirmed this as an exceptional restaurant.First time it was a Monday walk-in straight to a table; second a Friday punt involving a short wait for bar stools. Staff couldn't have been friendlier both times. The bar seats afforded excellent views of a coolly efficient kitchen where 8 young chefs went about their business with calm and... More

I have already written a Coda review but we had another wonderful experience there last Friday night so I have to write another one! We didn't book as we hadn't intended to go out to dinner that night but walked in on the spur of the moment. The restaurant was full however two stools at the bar were squeezed in... More

We walked into Coda off the street last Thursday night without a booking, so we expected to have to wait a while to be seated, but just as we sat down to peruse the cocktail list, seating became available, so we barely waited more than 2minutes. The staff here are absolutely fantastic. I love eating in restaurants where the kitchen... More

What a great restaurant experience. Great ambiance and sumptuous tapas food. We let the staff choose the menu for us - trust them, they know what people will love. I am still salivating over the steak tartare! You will need to book well ahead of time. I had a seat near the street window and had extra entertainment with people... More

Just finished a great lunch at Coda, in a basement just off Flinders Lane near Russell Street. We let the excellent waitress select the dishes, after expressing some general preferences and exclusions. All were very well presented and a great fusion of French Nouvelle, with Asian influences. The ice cream sandwich was a highlight for desert.
