Nice food but needs more vegan options

Soulfood is a quaint little place with a trendy feel about it. It's very 'Smith' Street in that it's light on the decor and has that 'lived in' feel about it. The staff are pretty friendly and they are happy to have a bit of a joke with you here and there (I like the little cartoon on the back... read more

Wow whatever happened to this restaurant ? It was once a great vegetarian restaurant, after my beige deep fried lunch yesterday my daughter and I are both in bed with food poisioning, I should have realised there was a problem when we were the only people for lunch. If you drink and don't eat you should be ok never again

The veggie menu is amazing and the carnivore options enticing. Service was good, ambience super. A nice find.

I'm so happy with the new menu on offer, still my fave place in Fitzroy for weekend brunch and wholesome evening meals.

Food was fantastic, it has changed for the better. I can still choose Vegetarian brekkie & my boyfriend is happy it now serves bacon, now we can eat here every Sunday. Coffee rocks too. Value plus.

Crappy service from an aloof waitress. Not a vegetarian restaurant anymore. Tasteless, overpriced and dips and bread came with bonus blonde hair. I asked if the chefs wore hats in the kitchen and she said no then proceeded to charge me the full bill. Disappointment to the max!

I have been a longtime regular at Soulfood. For over ten years it has been a favourite. Returning this weekend, I was horrified to find that it has changed owners and it now a complete disappointment. Service.....dreadful. The one staff member at the counter was unhelpful, rude, and didn't have a clue what was going on. The food was less... More

Average food, meat now on the menu, and no eft pos machine I recommend avoiding The new decor is tacky at best and has destroyed the feel of the place

This vegetarian restaurant has been an icon (or institution) on Smith Street for more years than I care to mention (I may give away my age). We turned up late on a Tuesday night for dessert and coffee and were greeted with a welcoming smile, polite conversation and a willingness to accommodate our dessert desires. No attitude, just gratitude. With... More
