Good dim sum at reasonable prices

We had booked for 10 people for lunch but had unexpected additions. The staff grumbled a bit but was able to seat us together. The food was classic dim sum dishes. Most were tasty except I felt the vegetable dish was overcooked. Service was as expected in a dim sum place. A mixture of being patient... read more

Great yum cha with good variety and fresh - plenty of dishes keep emerging from the kitchen. Always good service. Going back 20yrs ago you could have it $5pp over 4 people and it's price has risen but still under $40 for two and as much as you can eat

I had been told that this was the place to go in Chinatown, so off we went. Service was great, prices not cheap, and the food okay. I have to say that the meat and seafood in the dishes was fantastic - extremely tender and probably the best I've ever had. However the overall flavour and taste of the dishes... More

We picked this from the vast array of restaurants in China Town because of its presence and history. The service was efficient and food steaming hot - and they had a number of large tables to cater for. I enjoyed a huge pot of jasmine tea and must of had nearly a whole duck (sweet and sour) which I surprised... More

The Flower Drum was closed so my Tasmanian mate took me to Shark Fin House for yum cha. The prawn dumplings, prawn wanton and pork bun were good and the mango pudding was just the right side of sweet. The decor is a little dated but the service was prompt.

Poor, poor, poor. I came here as part of a yum cha group. Although I wasn't eating yum cha (i'm veggie so was going to order from the main menu) I felt like I could've been invisible. No one paid any attention to me to even take my order, then it felt like more than 30 mins went by before i... More

Going with a group of 7, we were seated promptly without needing to make a prior reservation. The wait staff and the security / hosts were friendly and very pleasant. The food was good. I've had better in Perth, so maybe the expectation in Melbourne was higher than it should have been. The flavours were strong, but just ok. Being... More

The taste reminds me of my hometown. As a cantonese, I would say many dishes are same as that in my mind.

we joined some locals for a yum cha lunch. Given the volume of people entering and leaving the restaurant we knew we would be in for a treat and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is over 3 floors (thats how busy it is). I lost count of the number of dishes we tried but as we are not that... More
