Yummy Chinese Food

Been there twice for Yum Cha. I like their food as they taste relly nice! Spending $20 each with my female friend last time on Chinese New Year day, I was quite surprised I found I ate too much when left. I will go back again next time for sure!!

Sprawled over 3 floors, this mainstay Chinese restaurant continue to have its following of largely Chinese clientele. The shark fin soup, abalone and lobster are popular dishes. The place is cramped, crowded and noisy; but if your main focus is food, it's worth it

I have read some negative comments from people here and on other websites and although I agree that the service can certainly be improved. Nevertheless, Shark Finn House is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Melbourne when it comes to the quality and flavour of the food. It's also very well priced. As far as negatives, the decor needs... More

Always come here when in Melbourne. Dishes excellent especially the calamari - long tentacles cooked to my liking washed down with Tsing-Tao beer. Not overpriced, service excellent and good food. What more can you ask for.

Never had dinner here, but if I'm in the CBD, I always try and grab Yum Cha here. I use to go to the Dragon Boat further down the road but found some of their dishes to be a little westernized for my taste buds. Here, I feel more like I was in HKG. There were a few dishes that... More

This is one of the better, cheaper yum cha sessions I've had. The restaurant itself is really nice, and the service is so so (nothing bad, just the normal abruptness you get at 90% of the other restaurants in Chinatown), but the food is worth the trip alone. Whatever you do hit up the chilli squid things (sorry - don't... More

Having not made a reservation, and walking in around 6pm on a Monday and the restaurant very busy, we were not expecting much, but we were very surprised, both the service and the meal were exceptional. I found the waitstaff very helpful and efficient, and the food delicious. I have been told since recommending this restaurant that making a reservation... More

Solid little yum-cha session. Most of the usual suspects and it was evidently quite a popular little place (no wait for us, but they were struggling for tables) The dishes were good and the service was prompt. Definitely not extra-ordinary, but not bad. We were seated right next to another couple and we weren't in a mood for joining their... More

I have not been to Melbourne for an awful long time. This trip was to catch up with friends and so it was that my friend pre-booked this place for dinner before Christmas last year. at one look, this is a typical Cantonese/Hong Kong style Chinese Restaurant. The place was impressively filled to the brim with people and as is... More

We use to frequent this Yum Cha restaurant 3 or 4 times a year, but not in the past 5 years as we found several others with similar food and quality in the Suburbs. So on this past Tuesday lunchtime, we went in, no booking, got sent to a small table on the 2nd floor as it was quite full.... More
