An old favourite - still very good

Revisited Shark Fin House recently, after not going for some years. First started eating here about 2002 - it hasn't changed a bit. Very good yum-cha (dim sum), good service, plenty of choice, reasonable prices.

The taste reminds me of my hometown. As a cantonese, I would say many dishes are same as that in my mind.

we joined some locals for a yum cha lunch. Given the volume of people entering and leaving the restaurant we knew we would be in for a treat and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is over 3 floors (thats how busy it is). I lost count of the number of dishes we tried but as we are not that... More

This is a typical Chinese yum cha restaurant with tables packed like sadines and waiters learning English and practicing cutlery throwing. To enhance your appetite, trolleys with wastes from the last sitting pushing by you while you enjoy shrimps. For a better ambience and service, try the sister restaurant just a stone throw up Lt Bourke Street, the Shark Finn... More

My wife, sister in law, brother in law and I went and had a meal at this restaurant last night. While the meal was quiet nice, the service was a little slow, however; this is understandable considering the number of people in the restaurant… The cost of our meal was about $142.00, which I felt was reasonable for the size... Being a first time to Australia, we had no idea of a good Chinese restaurant in Melbourne, so we decided to just walk down Little Bourke St until we saw something we liked. The Shark Fin House looked interesting so we asked to see a menu. As soon as our eyes locked onto the abalone on the menu, we decided... More

I went here during an holiday in Melbourne. It's completely different from chinese's restaurant in Italy, naturally, and very very good.

I planned for a great night out for my wife and 2 of my closest friends. After a good discussion on cuisine we decided that Chinese would hit the spot tonight. My friend & I went in to most of the restaurants to have a look and had taken some business cards of those that we favoured the most. We... More

My girlfriend and I set off for a two day shopping frenzy, thanks to my daughter we were told about this wonderful restaurant, we had mini spring rolls, chicken skewers, the yummiest special fried rice and the tenderest beef, vegetable and cashews meal, we decided to share, yum, fantastic, will go back soon.

Been there twice for Yum Cha. I like their food as they taste relly nice! Spending $20 each with my female friend last time on Chinese New Year day, I was quite surprised I found I ate too much when left. I will go back again next time for sure!!
